M4RA : Sure it does less damage then a pulse but dat ap ammo and high manoeuvrability makes it a viable alternative to pulse.
MK1: I don’t rate mk1 as S tier because I feel like it’s more of a sidegrade for people that don’t have much space for ammo because of the uhh low manoeuvrability as well as the poor attachies / + low accuracy. It has great use though.
M2C: MK2 is kind of just m2c but good and m2c is kinda just a meme and FF producer
Grenade launcher can be pretty fun, but offset by being usually being seen in the hands of a PVT and low ammo availability, plus of course you can just toss the “ammo” without one
Knife is obviously a special case because it’s free!
There is a reason why mk2 and shotgun is both the most popular combo and standalone weapons brought in general, they are so versatile with good damage and stopping power.
Flamer is good if used right, held back from S tier based on the fact you wont have adequate means to extinguish the flames and once they are there you are just asking for a warrior lunge
MK1 is always good, just lacks the versatility of the mk2
M4A3 has some of the highest dps in the game, enough said
machete and knife, same tier based on convenience to effect factor
M39 is slept on and is a good gun
VP has good damage and good AP for a pistol
Smart pistol is the same
MOU has good burst damage but lacks sustain
M79 has a niche, relies on good nades though
HPR is just too slow to outpace xenos, yes it can lock down an area and kill dudes stupid enough to challenge it head on but you wont be killing anyone planning to get rid of you
m56d is just slow but alright i guess for static lines
m44 just not a great pistol
m10 has bad stats compared to what you could be bringing instead
XM88 is literally only good for killing fortified defenders
M2C has lost its place in gameplay mostly and is much more of a niche than a good weapon
m4ra has never really been in a good spot
mod 88 is a meme pistol
A-B tiers should probably be really self-explanatory. Shotguns are shotguns, HPR is scary as fuck (especially with silencers, not kidding) but forces you to be stationary to take advantage of its actual killing power. The MK2 is the single best weapon in the game with the M240 only slightly trailing behind and becoming a more powerful weapon as the game progresses. I won’t tell you all the separate configs for the M240, but almost all of them are absurdly strong and will make xenos cry. Get creative.
MOU and GL might be my only contentious placements- flechette MOU is really scary in the right hands and isn’t particularly hurt by meagre AP availability, but I don’t think it’s nearly as scary as a well placed M39 AP or MK1, primarily because the right hands are super rare. If you utilize flech-mou in the best circumstances, you can make the entire hive afraid to push out for fear of eating 50% from fullscreen near instantly. Slug MOU is a meme and mostly outclassed by baton slugs excepting ammo count.
MOU is a lot weaker than the sound design suggests but is genuinely devastating in the right places, GL is a lot stronger than the tier suggests but is ultimately a gun that’s heavily limited by ammo counts and carrying capacity, and relies very heavily on teammates to make up the shortfall in its direct damage application.
By the way, baton slugs are overtuned as fuck and you should be using them whenever you can.
Prenerf M10 would go in B tier for me, it’s basically outclassed by the M39 now outside of AP availability. Using any of the E (really F) tier weapons unironically is either an intentional aesthetic decision (a la Mack Darin) or genuinely preemptive misplay.
