I think we as community have grown enough to be trusted with RP-enhancing capabilties that can potentially be LRP.
I am talking, of course, about VOIP my beloved. Most of the time, it would be faction-restricted and follow strict RP moderation rules.
But, having played Black Ops 6 and experienced the new “Taking Hostage” mechanic that allows players to communicate to the person they hold hostage, I believe this here is a great opportunity to bridge community gaps between Xenomorphs and Marines and improve roleplay, decrease toxicity in the playerbase.
CM players, known for their great sportsmanship, will be able to speak to each other, if a marine is capped in the hive or swallowed by a xenomorph. This lets the marine congratulate the xeno on their good and skilled play, and xeno to talk about how good the marine in question behaved on the battlefield. A good cordial talk between two equals.
Of course, the Xenomorph will also have to roar, hiss, and breathe into the mic. The Xeno Queen will also have to do breathing spontaneously, as represented in Aliens (1986).
So what do you think, folks? Will my suggestion make CM more inclusive and friendly to all players?
Voip would single handedly save CM. You don’t believe me? What’s more soulful, slowly typing out what you’re trying to say, or the bubbly redhead medic going yo dude you need bica in a deep ass voice? Yeah, I’m thinking I know what’s better. No one would ever say mean things, because the cm community is so wholesome, staff doesn’t even need to worry about slurs.
What’s better, writing a lame markdown fax or NDA as CL or inputting a real legal form as PDF into the game and asking the man in front of you in a manly voice, “Would you like to sign my petition?”
