add an APC that will handle power for every small evac pod.
APC will not deplete is charge.
APC won’t break when hijack happen.
you wouldn’t be able to totally break those APC.
APC will be breakable by xeno to prevent marine using them.
why it’s good for the game:
will allow xeno to prevent usage of evac pod while still allow marine to fix them if they want.

the idea is to slow down/block people from evacuating and if pod is broke you will need atleast someone with comtech level to fix wire on an APC. so if you try rushing pods without an comtech your bone.
Why? If you can repair the pods it doesn’t prevent anyone from leaving. Wasting time on breaking the APCs is also sounds like a very tedious idea. You already can add inconvenience by walling the pods off or trapping them

This would really fuck over people trying to evac as its very likely xenos, like you mention would literally just swipe them all.
Fixing a single APC post-hijack is very difficult because power is down mostly everywhere and very few comtechs carry them before the power goes down. Once hijack starts xenos 95% of the time have already won, let the few marines that wanna wimp out and early evac do so without impediment.
