Your appeal:
I was in the wrong as CL when I bribed the pilot to launch before the XO was prepared to lead the mission. I had read in the wiki that bribes were encouraged but after re-reading the CL page I see now that that is reserved for antagonist use of the CL role and is not standard for CL conduct. I had done so for the survivors, but after having played XO for many rounds now, leading the troops to both victories and defeats, I see how seriously messed up that was and how I ruined the entire round for the playing XO. My time in command has given me a better understanding of how the CL role fits into the overall structure of the Almayer and its command structure. I also had the opportunity to play with and witness other CLs who used the role properly and learned from them as well. I will take these experiences into account going forward if you choose to unban me from the CL role.
I have over 420 hours in the role as it is my favorite one to play, as are survivor and the recently added bodyguard role. I was banned from survivor and bodyguard recently for allegedly dodging the CL job ban. In my opinion, this is only possible with a new CKey. I have been informed that this would be taken into consideration for this jobban appeal. I would like to make it clear that dodging the ban was never my intention. In my previous attempt to appeal the ban, I was informed that my appeal was denied because I had not played for quite some time, and that there was no evidence to support that I had changed. Therefore I thought the best way to prove myself was to play WY roles as survivor and bodyguard. At no point did I ask anyone to change my ID to say I was a CL. During the round in question, I did change into civilian clothing after being rescued, citing that I had been wearing the same thing for a week. I consider this HRP and not any kind of violation. I later went to get IFF, which I did not realize I already had, and I had asked for access to the WY office. I, as a WY survivor, was not able to open doors, which is not the norm, but rather something introduced in the test merge. At not point in the round did I act like a CL, as was alleged. I was still a WY security team member and followed the orders of the CL herself. Even if I had rolled the CL of the planet, I would not consider it dodging a job ban. Survivor CL is entirely removed from both the shipside CL role and the specific actions that resulted in my ban in the first place. A colony side CL could not bribe a marine pilot to launch early, as they do not even know they are above them.
With all of this being said, I’ve conducted myself well in the recent weeks. I have played as XO, doctor, medic, MP. I was even the most sane MP during an event round which resulted in potentially unlawful executions and human rights observers and not once did I abuse anyone with nonlethals. I have saved lives, built life-saving robots, cleaned the ship, and led operations both successful and unsuccessful. All of this without generating any notes except the bodyguard/survivor ban, which I feel was mostly due to a clerical error on part of the CO and not really taking into account my RP and actions themselves.
In closing, I believe I should be given another chance at this role. It is my preferred role to play, and I am determined to play it again with integrity and according to the standards set forth by the rules and expected by the staff. I have learned from my mistakes and grown from new experiences. It has been six months since my job ban, and I am ready to return to the office.
