Description of the incident:
I was in briefing dismantling chairs which yes is against Rule 2.0 which I now know as I had no metal for building a FOB and I was the only person capable of building having no ComTechs in Bravo and being the SL, I did report this to command.
After dismantling some chairs Pax Vasser and a few other marines continually tackled me, Punched me and stole my belongings hiding them over the briefing hall. I was messaged by SmellyHippie about the Ship Modifications in which ICly we had a discussion before about how chairs do not count as Decon, which was where I was ignorant to the rule. I messaged back saying my point of view from my IC conversation in which he noted “If you need metal, go to maints and crowbar barrels. I’ll be leaving a note.” I messaged back saying if the people that kept attacking me and fucking with me would also be spoken to. In the meantime I had Decon’d another two chairs while this conversation was happening. In the side Pax Vasser and his crew was once again attacking me and put me into the orange health on the right side of my screen. I said to him If you continue ill defend myself, after the second warning i took a few warning shots as he was choking me and then i put my gun away and said stop this. In which he instantly killed me. I walked away from the situation after being revived but with multiple broken bones went to head towards medical in which i had mentioned to command someone else will need to build FOB as I wouldn’t be down on the first or second drop because needing my medical attention.
My report is with the punishment without speaking first and also just ignoring my ticket while this was all going down. The last message about leaving a note was a while till I got banned for 180 minutes. In which “shot a marine after being told to stop” My issue is, the marine did not tell me to stop. He was flat out attacking me almost killing me for Deconning chairs.
I see this ban as a bit of an extreme reaction when I have only had one note ever, I was not intentionally trying to ruin game play or affect other another players experience, It was Pax Vasser who continued to harass and attack me during briefing.
Hey man, I play Pax Vasser. You were shot because you shot my character. So let’s go through what led up to this.
I woke up this op and walked into the support prep and immediately noticed there was not a single chair in that room, and my first thought was “Great, we have a funny guy around. Eventually I make my way to the big room, pop a squad, and lo and behold, not just ANY funny guy, but someone playing an SL role (of which there are expectations) is walking around actively dismantling the chairs in briefing while people are sitting in them (I believe it was at this point that I ahelped the situation). I would be remiss not to mention that there are a billion and one ways to get literally tens of thousands of metal sheets, and dismantling briefing chairs is not only one of the least efficient, but also the most likely to provoke a confrontation, which it did. I pushed you, along with a bunch of other annoyed marines in both my squad and others, and took your wrench, and trashed it because “What the hell are you doing?” or something along those lines wasn’t getting through to you, so I assumed the worst, and my assumption was further validated when you wordlessly picked up another wrench and went right back to it, so yeah, you got jumped again. I will be honest and let you know that when I smashed you on the table, that was a mistake and I fat fingered my intent, but all in all I think that was fair escalation.
This next led to you laying down an M2C (in briefing) and outwardly threatening to shoot me (with an M2C (in briefing)).
You proceeded to open fire first after I got you away from the chairs again, because being beat up twice wasn’t enough to make you stop and think that maybe you shouldn’t be doing this. I chose not to escalate after the first time you fired at me (in briefing) because I am a nice guy at heart and wanted to give you a second to think about what you were doing. I think you went back to decon a final time and then you actually took a shot at me, after which you got introduced to my hollowpoints in self-defense.
Hey, I play Noir Kamikaze and I actually witnessed some of this incident, but not the end.
I saw the bits that unfolded in briefing, I saw Vincent deconning chairs, and I saw Pax and some other guys start chasing him around and what looked like to me, antagonizing him. I saw them pushing him over, i saw them take his boots, i saw them shove him over drag him over to the table in brief and slam him into the table several times ( im not sure how the mechanic for that works but i heard several, and lots of cracking). I then saw him grab him after he got him down to about halfish health and then throw him into the wall. (I have a medhud so I could see the damage being done.) It didn’t end there, I saw vincent telling them to stop and that theyd kill him if they didnt, I did see him try to pull his gun out a few times but not fire it.
There was an XO, or captain or some form of command watching and telling them to stop it and they didn’t. They kept shoving him and taking antagonizing him, I also saw them grab him and try to start taking him towards the table again. The command member kept yelling at them to stop but it continued, at this point I was also telling them to chill out because I could tell while vincent was in the wrong, that he was a new player based on how he struggled to defend himself from grabs or shoves. At this point I started shoving and hitting them with a chair to try and take some heat off of vincent and get them to chill out, so we wound up tussling with eachother for a little bit, but again I think things were starting to go too far and I felt like I had grabbed their attention enough and ran off. I didnt witness anything that happened after that.
I’m gonna be honest I was disappointed to learn that Thwomper plays pax because while I was witnessing this I felt like I was watching a bad faith player antagonize vincent. I dont question the ban for vincent, I dont think shooting someone is a good solution for what was happening, but he did have bone breaks that i heard and I did witness them continue to fuck with him even after he said he was going to die several times.
You continued to deconstruct during the PM conversation with Hippie, after being told to stop.
Additionally you fired upon people against escalation. I understand your frustration in being assaulted, but it does not entitle you to open fire.
Additionally for your clarity, unless looking at an actual health HUD over your head, the icon you have on your HUD does not represent your health, it represents pain.
