The main point is to add armour cams so CIC players stop suffering.
The arguments I’m hearing against this are unrelated. “Marines should be punished for not wearing one, the helmet cam is a debuff to that marine and hence it should stay that way to incentivise helmet wearing.”
Will adding body cams improve the experience for CIC players? YES.
Will adding body cams cause more marines to ditch helmets? NO.
Will adding body cams be a net positive? YES.
Is there a compelling, good reason to shoot down body cams? NO!
The marines who don’t wear helmets already never will unless you make them instantly decap to one slash. The marines who already wear helmets will continue to do so because they like their face intact.
The main consideration into wearing helmets is protection and drip, not the dinky camera that lets the SO stalk you in the bathroom.
Why are we punishing CIC players for this? This is literally just a QoL feature for SOs. I don’t see how anyone would have a compelling reason against this simple change.

Yes. You should not be able to observe hugged marines in hive.
Marine lights shut off anyways when hugged, so imo this seems pretty trivial unless xenos nest next to a light source (hivecore). Even then, the light radius is pretty pathetic and won’t give much in the way of information.
However, fair point. It shouldn’t be too hard to make body cams turn off when hugged to fix any concerns with this. Maybe make it toggleable, similar to armour lights.
