If a spec/SG/comtech/HM/FTL gets the role of acting squad leader, their icon changes to an L to denote they are a squad leader, I think it would be useful to maybe add an Icon for each one of these positions that features an L with some element of the job they’re in. For example, an engineer aSL would have an L that forms a wrench, a medic aSL would maybe have a cross with the top and right bars a lot thicker to form an L, so on and so forth.
This will just add confusion for new players, and doesn’t meaningfully change anything. Who cares that the aSL is a com tech or a PFC, it doesn’t really matter.
i do think denoting wether someone is an acting squad leader or not is useful, i dont really know how to do that ina way that isnt bloating and confusing
Why not just do something like this
Upper will show that your are a squad leader.
Lower shows your role.
Ofcourse the upper will only show if your the aSL
In my experience, and any one here feel free to correct me, it is extremely rare for a medic to be assigned ASL. If that happens I assume it is a mistake. A comtech is only ever set as ASL if Bravo and the squad is on FOB. I do not feel this is a necessary change. However, I do like your creativity.
very valid point actually. I have however been in situations where frustration has occurred because the ASL is incapable of doing stuff like fixing comms etc and people around realised their original role too late. I dont think its really worth changing a very easily readable ui element to fix that, but it does happen at least.
