Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?
I wish to become a Fax Responder, as I believe it will allow me to develop more of an HRP style and enjoy the wonders of paperwork. I was a Head of Personnel player in SS-14. I have enjoyed working in roles like MP and CL, and I find it 10 times more enjoyable when there is someone on the other end of the fax to actually message with. Providing some of my time to make enjoyable opportunities for others is 100% worth my time! I believe that the fax responder role leads roles like MP and CL to have more RP opportunities, thus adding more depth to an otherwise possibly dry game.
I believe that players who play CL and wish to have engaging fax correspondence can feel disheartened when they do not receive responses. So, adding myself to the pool would do no harm. (I am aware I can only play HC fax responder)
What do you consider the purpose of this role?
I believe the purpose of a fax responder is to provide more RP opportunities to HRP roles. Admins empower them to provide engaging, non-consistent gameplay opportunities that break out of the normal bog-standard gameplay loop. They respond funny, engaging, and interactively to faxes players send to them. You provide a more constant form of communication, making it feel like high-command/WY/Provost is nearby.
You exist as an extension of admins to lighten their load, although you must follow set guidelines for each specific fax role.
When would you consider it appropriate to use your phone?
An admin instructs me to do so per an event or, in the case of me playing provost, to stop an illegal execution (I would also notify the admins).
If playing WY Responder, what objectives do you consider within your power to give the CL?
Menial non-major non-round-altering objectives,
I may request that they collect a specific sample from the colony.
Get a specific role or person to do paperwork.
During a possible Royce ERT, inform the CL of the situation, the research consultant’s duties, and how they could help.
If playing Press Responder, what objectives do you consider within your power to give the CC?
Again Menial non-major non-round-altering objectives,
I would probably request they get photos of xenos.
Try and catch the CL in a possible scandel.
Do some investigative reporting.
Intereview XYZ persons.
