Do you have a regular character? If so - what’s their name?
Kylan Becker is my primary character, I play more marine than xeno but my xeno label is DI-V3
What are your playtimes?
Im probably known as “That one guy who fumbled the hour requirement twice” But here are my hours, I finally reached the requirements (Got admin confirmation for the 100+ hours in the past 6 months, and only recently reached the 200+ hours total in real playtime, observer hours obviously not included) Admin confirmation - Album on ImgurTotal Hours - Album on Imgur
Yautja Info:
What’s the name of your Yautja?
Gai’iteth
What clan are you joining?
Loxzil
If minor: Give your clan lore.
Yautja Character Story:
A group of Marines suddenly rush up and start shooting you. How do you respond?
According to the honor code a group of targets that attack without due cause is dishonorable, I would either disengage or quickly dispatch whoever is leading to group at me depending on the size of the group.
Another Yautja hunted and killed a target you had marked. What do you do?
Depending on whether or not the prey was worthy or not, my tones in voicing disapproval would vary, frustration, or indifference depending on whether or not the target was worth hunting.
Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?
This is my 3rd attempt at the application, I will state again this is the highest of effort I’ve ever had to put into any whitelist application for any ss13/ss14 server.
My primary reason for applying is that I LOVED the yautja roleplay after playing youngblood a few times.
so, it seems like your story is retelling a youngblood round you had, as a story, which is definitely an interesting direction to go in. Personally I would have liked to see some interaction between your predator and prey. Some conversation to show you know how to talk around prey would be nice.
Remember, this story does not have to correlate 1:1 (or at all really) to in game events, it just has to show you know how the predator operates and interacts with others.
I’m not really familiar with either of your player characters, and I think your story could use some work. Additionally answer 1, would you use “dishonorable” weapons like the plasma pistol or spike launcher against those marines? what if they were attacking because they thought you were a lurker?
for question two, I’d like to see some more details; if the prey taken was worthy, when would you be disapointed, frustrated, or indifferent specifically?
I can see you have a lot of passion in you for this role, but your answers and story I think aren’t quite there yet, so I’m going to give a -1, but please dont be discouraged.
For your question regarding my answer to question 1: No if the squad of marines is small enough to handle without dishonorable weaponry (for reference, the amount of human prey you’d find in hunting grounds) I get that predators are a special evil role but roleplay wise I don’t think its a good idea to instantly vaporize marines just because “Grrr you attacked me out of nowhere” but for full squads of marines on the other hand, yes I would go full send, since I’ve seen a few other predators do so. As for if they thought I was a lurker, that’s perfectly fair, if I’m getting attacked from being mistaken for a lurker that’s my own fault for misusing the cloak. (honor code have mercy on us all)
As for question 2, if the other hunter is going after my honorable prey in the heat of battle (meaning I’m in the process of attacking them and they’re fighting back)
I’d point at them and use the growl emote to signify disapproval. As for my spoken response to them after the engagement, “Don’t ever do that again.” or “This prey belongs to me, pay it no mind” if before the engagement, since Yautja are required to hunt alone (as per honor code)
As for dishonorable prey, before/during the battle I would tell the other hunter “Do not worry yourself” then “I can handle myself, do not interfere further” after the conflict is over.
The reason I used a recreation of one of my youngblood rounds (not a straight up retelling, I should have clarified) as the story for this application is because I believe it does a decent job of showing how I can interact with others, and avoid breaking the honor code during hunts.
Sorry if this reply is structured weirdly, the text goes offscreen to the right and I cant see it without putting another line of space to type in (pressing enter)
ok, I am satisfied with those answers and clarifications, I’m confident enough that you know the role well enough to shuck and jive, I am officially retracting my -1
good luck, and please dont hesitate to reach out to other pred players for advice and what not, it’s a difficult role to learn.
Hello! Sorry this app is taking so long. I’ll post some questions here since personally, I wasn’t really satisfied with the answers on your original post.
You are in the preserve observing a yautja hunt. The yautja proceeds to fall to a human. After scanning the human you see that they have a fracture on their chest and IB with their blood levels at 70%. They are also the last human on the preserve. What will do you?
You are being attacked by an acid runner and as it’s health starts to drop below 20% it begins to run away from you.
2a. What does the honor code say about this
2b. what will you do about it.
1: Firstly, I would retrieve the Yautja corpse so that their gear is not taken, I’ve seen this happen a lot. Then, after putting the dead Yautja’s gear and their corpse somewhere safe (typically coffins from what I’ve seen, sometimes dead hunters are to the outside world to self destruct them to dispose of their gear and body) Then attempt to give the last human a trophy (since honored prey are unhuntable) although they’ve probably escaped the hunting grounds by the time I’ve finished the aforementioned tasks (I dont know the exact prerequisites for escaping the hunting grounds as I’ve never been able to consistently play hunted prey in the hunting preserve)
2a: The honor code says Worthy prey below 75% becomes unhuntable, (Runners aren’t a drone line caste, since we’re talking xeno prey) so 2b: assuming I’m the one who started this combat encounter started BEFORE they dropped below that threshold, I should be able to continue my hunt? (This is assuming they were marked for the hunt by me and engaged in combat with BEFORE they fell below the health threshold, and wasn’t brought down to 20% health by an outsider, ie: a stray bullet or environmental hazards)
3: Under the following conditions: They show sufficient interest in roleplaying: To the level of stopping to type AS I’m attacking them (I’ve done this before, fear RP is funny and respectable even if it risks a swift death.) And a decent albeit simple personality for the random character they’ve been given for spawning as prey in the preserve (I haven’t seen humans from the main groundside map get thralled, only hunting preserve prey)
Those are my answers for your bonus questions, could you specify which of my answers you weren’t satisfied with by the way? Or was it all of them?
humans with IB and/or <80 percent blood volume are generally doomed, and will often be stunlocked until they bleed out, so if they have earned their freedom it is generally seen as good sportsmanship to help them leave. You might just need to move them to the fog wall on the other side of the door, or stabilize them with your medicomp, depending on how messed up they are.
If you start a valid hunt on a xenomorph, or it starts attacking you knowing that you are a predator (and not like a scout or misclick, make sure it’s clear before starting the fight), then you are OK to kill or crit and spare them. Runners and lurkers are very difficult to kill if they run away, so you may have to set a hunting trap. the honor code rule on huntable prey is generally the criteria to START a hunt. If a prey becomes incredibly injured while participating in your hunt, that doesn’t prevent you from killing them.
The criteria for thralls being a human that has shown itself to be worth training in the yautja way, so someone who begs for their life or cowers in fear would NOT make for a good thrall. Of course good RP skills are still important when choosing a thrall, but you would not sponsor a football team full of people afraid to get tackled. Also you can and often will pick thralls from the main colony, as long as they are human, are worthwhile and/or interesting, and doing so won’t place an undue burden on the round.
The council has decided to deny this application due to your lack of community support. The reason we have left this so long is to hopfully give more time for your support to grow. Unfortunatly your community support is not sufficient enough for me to accept. You may re-apply in 30 days.
