Ban reason being severly wrong?

Anyone else ever get this, my current ban is worded in a way that skews the events in a very dishonest manner. Its just a bit weird because I’m not contesting the ban but it says I shot the MP but it doesn’t mention that despite me offering to surrender peacefully some random SO/XO was refusing at listen to a COs acceptance of that standdown order and ordering a shoot on sight “which he then did” and that’s why him and the MPs got shot? The CMO followed me all shift while there was multiple people going perma on ship unrelated to anything I did and when I stopped to talk at him he would fluoride stare and run away then call in my location for MPs, but when I shot him he was actively trying to subdue me WHILE the CMP was on scene, I deserve the ban for shooting the shitter CMO who just wanted to be a problem but the other guys shot at me first and its labelled “shot them for no reason”.

If you think your ban reason has been presented dishonestly why not make a staff report through the proper channels instead of making an acid goop post?

Cuz im not contesting the ban, I just think this happens alot. I don’t think its malicious just more a hurried thing but at the same time sorta weird seeing things taken out of context.

It’s happened to me on every server I’ve played. Some admins gotta cover for themselves. Can’t make the ban reason seem too light

Maybe but you are accusing a staff member of being dishonest but not wanting to actually raise a staff report or speak to their manager which just comes across to me as wanting to stir up drama or support for yourself from people who don’t actually know what happened.

The issue with these kinds of posts is that we have no idea of the circumstances of your ban. Maybe you have legitimate cause to raise concerns, maybe you have no just cause at all.

Making this thread will do nothing but generate drama at worst. I’d encourage you to make a staff report instead.

I think, again think, he doesnt want to do a staff report because he doesnt want the admin to get in trouble. (We know its not likely)

He’s asked for clear information or details to be referenced in ban reasons. Its not an unrealistic request. It wasnt until recently we had a conversation and got the system to automatically put the round # and information in for notes. Itd be decent to have a good format for notes. Some range from some short nondescript note with a “do better” snarky tagline, and a marginal few with decent explanations within the note so other admemes get a better idea of what happened.

Honestly, we should just have a system where you could just have a 1 on 1 conversation with the admin/moderator who banned you after the fact. Stuff like editing notes/bans while still keeping them. Because a lot of stuff can be missed out in the heat of a game where there’s a lot of stuff going on, and you can easily mess up the small things.

Maybe just PM the admin/mod and just clarify with them, but setting up a routine for how to deal with it could easy up on some minor grievances that could easily be fixed.

Example, “hey, I see you have a problem with the ban wording you got given, so PM me and I’ll take a look into it”. That way you don’t have to make what people consider an “accusation” of bad admin behavior like a staff report, while still fixing the notes.

I doubt the admin in question is reading acid goop topics. As many others said, staff report the admin in question instead of creating literal “admins are dishonest and unfair and everything, agree with me, don’t want to staff report them cause I fear the report getting stomped I don’t want to get them into trouble (I have yet to see an admin get into severe trouble for using incorrect wording in the note)”

Instead of making a drama post about it make a staff report.

Well, the system exists (discord DM) - but if you go this route, be prepared to not be able to staff report it, because the DM process can easily take more than 48 hours, and you can’t staff report anymore at that point. So I can see why people would just staff report it in the first instance because of that limitation.

That pretty much sounds like staff reporting was a bad thing or something, either you are in the wrong (nothing happens) or the note gets corrected.
