Synthetic Info:
Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:
Pamela
What is your Synthetic’s Personality?
Pamela’s line of model was originally designed to serve as pediatric assistants to child-care centers and maternity wards across the continental United Americas. In particular, Pamela’s model line was intended to serve in regions lacking the sophisticated and stable infrastructure enjoyed by those of the former United States in contrast to those which were annexed at the turn of the 22nd century (i.e. the Latin and Central-South Americas)- where trained, professional healthcare specialists would be difficult commodities in some developing areas for years to come.
As the economic and social conditions in those regions more-or-less equalized to those of the capital regions by the mid-late 22nd century, so too ended the needs of her line in their original purposes. Pamela was among the last units of her model to be manufactured and distributed, with her sister units either being decommissioned or as in the case of newer units like Pamela, redistributed to suit the needs of other fields by the 2170s-2180s.
While a considerable portion of her database and (with some of it being deemed unfit for military purposes) bits of her personality module were modified to suit mission requirements, Pamela- be it the clumsy works of the technicians in charge of her maintenance periods or perhaps her programming’s own, seemingly stubborn attachment to her past duties, still retains and let’s slip the core maternal sweetheart she was originally designed as, and her peer-to-peer emphasis on comforting and calming those around her to the best of her perceived duties in even the direst circumstances.
During surgeries, she might sing her patients a soothing tune to help them relax, or to lighten up a battle-weary marine’s mood she might share with them a nursery rhyme with a more individually-appropriate twist simply to lift the spirits and in a way assure of their well-being as calmly and caringly as possible. In her core programming, the emotional and maternal care she can offer to her patients can be as critical as the physical well-being of those under her care in spite of her current professional, objective-oriented military standing that’s been introduced into her personality modules.
How will they react to the different ranks of the USCM, what would they talk about in a one on one conversation? What are their interests? What is an advertisement logline that could be written for them?
Pamela’s professional attitude is /supposed/ to be maintained at all times, especially when interacting with ranking personnel within the USCM.
However, at times she might catch herself slipping into a more casual, comforting attitude stemming from her original programming wherein the concept of Commanding Officers and the likes in a military command structure were something unfamiliar to her personality module. She will quickly make note of it, and say something like “Oops! Please excuse my attitude, officer. I must report this error and diagnostic!” to quickly correct herself and store the data of the error in her memories, however minor it is. These quirky slips are a lot more relaxed when it comes to interacting with lower-ranking enlisted personnel compared to senior ranking officials, as within her core programming she views the enlisted as those under her care!
Pamela’s interests are very simply any subjects to do with medicinal care and the concepts of parenthood and family- the topics being the very nature of Pamela and in the case of the latter- it being something she strives to process and expand her understanding of as much as she can.
“The Joy of Life, with Pamela!”
Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?
I have always had a few friends here and then that suggested to me that I should apply for synth, but I never really seriously considered or actually got to trying for it until recently. It was mostly inspired by a lot of the fun interactions I had been getting with some of the synthetics lately, namely with Molly, Finn, Elizabeth and Wilfred off the top of my head.
For a long time I was under the impression that synthetics- with the responsibilities and powers they hold to affect the flow of a round, typically don’t “have time” to RP but these three happily proved to me that is not the case at all. I understand that synths have a huge RP potential and are amazing mediums for it, as well as a rewarding platform for playing support roles within, and I am hoping to experience that myself!
What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?
This was a long time ago, but when I first started playing CM, it took me a lot longer than I should have to realize synths were actually played by real people and weren’t actually AI- it was all thanks to a synth named Joe. The way he even simply moved about, or did his job going about to help out marines, and interacted with you was so well-played that it genuinely tricked me for a while! I remember him wearing the cardborg hat in a number of rounds too, and when you asked him to do something, he simply went “YES.” or “NO.” followed by “I AM JOE.” before busily going about to do what was asked of him, all the while he was still always willing to interact and even have heart-to-heart responses and conversations with you- all the while still going about talking like the examples I gave. That was so long ago that I can’t remember any /specifically/ most memorable moments with a synthetic like Joe, but seeing him in the rounds was always a joy to see and that impression I have on synthetics from him has always remained with me since then.
Synthetic Character Story:
Skills:
Engineering:
I am very confident in engineering to say that I can perform all basic tasks it entails without delays like fixing comms, repairing APCs, restoring colony power, or fixing the sensor tower- as well as being tactically versed to perform those tasks in the appropriate environments, or creating such environments with cades or reinforcements as I may need. Speaking of cades, I am familiar with the cade theory as so to put cadelines and their entrances in effective layouts to create kill-boxes, minimize congestion and maximize marine line of fire, know when to put them and to put them where they matter, as well as keeping myself well-supplied to make said cades in the first place by scavenging for metal if need be!
Command:
Command is something I am confidently versed in, with SO being my second most played human role as of now, and SO overall being a role I had played on-off since before the ssethtide years ago. I am confident enough to say I understand the responsibilities of CIC and other command positions and have no trouble assisting or performing as necessary in any of those roles.
Medical:
Medical is a role that I am familiar with like the back of my hand by now to all degrees. I can, without a second thought, perform any and all tasks related to medical and perform it with haste and efficiency. Be it advanced or emergency surgeries & shortcuts to procedures, being a field medic, chemistry, body recoveries, triage and prioritizing, to name a few- I am confident enough to say I have plenty of experience in them and have all of these tasks by muscle memory. I am probably one of the last products of the old lesbay as well from back then, which is where I also learned to set-up & run the medical bay.
Requisitions:
Requisition is not a role I play often, but it is still something I have a high confidence in playing with no issues whenever I do. As a QM or even a lone CT, I can run the cargo-bay alone, minimize budget loss whilst sending everything that the FOB needs before it is asked for, and coordinate with squad specialists, frontline spotters, and CIC overwatch to keep the marines well-supplied and fighting on the ground. I am also familiar with a certain discrete requisitions feature and the in-game laws associated with it. If you know, you know.
What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.
Synths in general should not be engaging in active combat on the frontline. Other than that, a synth may engage in combat in order to defend itself or the lives of marines around it. Here are a few case examples.
Case A: The synthetic is traversing between the LZ1 FOB and engineering on LV. On south nexus road, it sees a lone marine tackled down or getting repeatedly pounced and slashed up by an alien. The synth in that case should do whatever it takes to guarantee it and the marine’s survival as long as the alien is a threat, including killing it if it does not leave.
Case B: The aliens have hijacked the Alamo and boarded the Almayer. The ship is on Delta alert, wherein the synthetic’s combat restrictions are heavily lifted with the focus of ensuring the survival of the ship’s crew at all costs. It now has little restrictions in combating the aliens even if there are combat personnel around it to be fighting sufficiently, as long as it does not abandon its duties in assisting the marine force through engineering or medical work which should be its duty focus.
Ultimately, the synthetic’s job is to support and ensure the safety of the marines around it and uphold its self-preservation.

The councilors and senators for all of their advice and feedbacks when it came to character-building, to all of my friends who peer-reviewed and checked the writing on my story, and all of the words of encouragement. In particular, TheeBiggest for getting me to finally get started on this, and a particular “JB Dishop” for convincing me to go for it all these years.
Thank you all, and here is hoping!
Oh, and a quick note, I live in the US daylight time zones.
