Benji

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

A synth that has served priorly on smaller colonies but was shifted around a bit due to the colonies failing. Very work focused and has basic skills in aid and customer service. On the slower side with most actions though since its internal hardware is old. He has worked in most settings but is unfamiliar with most types of danger.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Very stoic, Work focused when doing a task but friendly when talking to people and always greats them with a smile.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

He would interact by providing comfort and trying his best to respect and make the person hes talking to feel safe. The personality switches however when they ask a task of him as he turns more stoic with his focus turning to completing the task.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

Id like to see what it would feel like to be a more versatile character and not stay in the same place most time. And i like providing help as much as possible.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

Synthetic Character Story:

Benji’s story started out on a small moon mining colony. This is one of his first day providing service to the miners as benji tends the small bar made to boost morale. Benji: Hello sir. Could i be of service? The miner: Give me something strong, its been a long day. Benji: Strong you say? A whiskey on the rocks then or a shot of rum? What about a cocktail? The miner: Give me some rum, 3 shots. Benji: Coming right up sir. Benji smiles but it then quickly fades as he focuses fully on the task. Precisely and quickly taking a bottle of rum from the cabinet below him and pouring 3 shots without spilling a drop. He then smiles widely again as he sets the shots infront of the man. Benji: I hope you enjoy sir. If you need anything else, il be right over here! The man pours the three shots back and stands up walking off. Benji kept working at the colony for a while untill deposits dried up and he was relocated to a bigger colony on a planet. There he was assigned to customer service for a small business where he manned the phone. Benji picks up the phone as it rings. Benji: Customer service how may i help? Caller: Yeah this flashlight i bought from your store isnt working. Benji: The flashlights arent sold with batteries. Have you put batteries into it sir? Caller: Oh yeah right batteries, thanks thats all. Benji: Im glad i could be of service. He gets another call. Benji: Customer service, How may i help? The caller is a spam scammer. Caller: Sir Your bills havent been paid, You need to send ur money to this adress since the official methods are down. Benji: Im sorry sir. This is the customer service line of “Essentials + 1”. You must handle this matter with the owner of the store. Is that all sir? Caller suddenly hangs up since he know this is going nowhere. This was some of Benji’s story and a few of his missions. End of story.

I know quite a bit of medical and engineering but im pretty lacking in requistitions and command knowledge.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

If you are defending yourself. If you are defending a FOB from non human hostiles. During a Hijack.

By no means am I synth council but I’d really recommend taking a look at other applications, this one is very, very brief.

Out of interest what are your hours in various roles? Synth has no hard hour requirement as far as I remember, but it’d be interesting to see how much you’ve played certain roles.

I followed the guidelines. I kept it short. If it asked for a long explanation i would give one but it didnt so i didnt. I havent been playing this server for long so my hours are pretty low but i learn quick. I have about 60 hours overall as marines. And i thought this would be a fun whitelist role before i get the requirements for the predator whitelist.

Echoing Marm, I would highly suggest looking at other Synthetic Applications. Your story along with many of your answers are very short in comparison to the usually accepted application.

It says on the application that it can be short. You cant put that there and then expect the answers to be long.

When we say short, we mean a page to three pages long, something you’d read in 5 mins or less.
This does not fit our standards and I suggest you withdraw.

We have a WL feedback channel on the discord for a reason, it is so you can make sure your app at least fits our expectations before applying and having in game observations.

Hey there, @mongaman.

In literature, there are certain genres we define by word count. For example, a novelette refers to texts written at around 7,000-10,000 words or more, while for a piece to be called a story or short story, it generally needs to be at least 1,000 words. Your text, however, is 350 words. You’re not expected to know this, of course, but if you’re applying for a whitelist that demands a high level of roleplay skill, we would have appreciated you doing a bit of research.

Both the Council and I recommend that you seek advice for your application in the whitelist-app-help channel on our Discord server, review previously accepted applications, and gain more experience in the Medical, Engineering, and Requisitions roles. For now, I’m denying this application. You may submit another one next month.
