Sorry for wall of text, I’m taking a shit at work:
A quick lil 40-50 gamemode people can vote for if they want a breather. I say 40-50 min because it’d escalate so fast I expect it’d be over even sooner.
Might utilize some HVH mechanics but it’d be over so fast I doubt it.
50% of server spawn as CLF on a hijacked UD-4 CHEYENNE DROPSHIP. Standard poorly equipped CLF, bear in mind.
30%-40% of server spawn as marines & a few other necessary roles in a consolidated cryobay on the ALMAYER - ARES Red Alert has woken them up re: the very quickly approaching hijacked vessel.
10%-20% of server spawn as xenomorph larva dormant in some of the CLF. The CLF w/ larva inside them are players who explicitly signed up to be xenos (there’s probably a much better way to integrate xenos into the round, I just can’t think of it right now).
This dropship will crash into a random spot on the Almayer ala Hijack 2 minutes into the round.
There’s little to no prep time, no real opportunity for metagaming, no pretense of roleplay other than what the gameplay situation actually creates, it’s just immediate action, and just when you think “damn, marines and CLF are holed up, this shit gonna take forever” – the xenos fully mature. I cannot picture a round of this taking longer than 40 minutes.
There could of course be objectives beyond TDM but that’s up for discussion and ideaguys.
The spawn ratios could definitely use tweaking, I’m unsure the power of CLF.
Would a gamemode like this be something people would be interested in me developing, even if it’s only made votable like once a week?
I think it’d probably be a great LOWPOP gamemode tbqh. That’s where the idea came from.
