funny thing was i was so taken aback by killing the lurk that i was stunned for sec not believing i killed them.

- Reverse bursting is an escalating chance the lower your health, dont want to get reverse bursted? don’t be at like 20% hp. you wouldve probably died that way regardless, give it to the full HP runner next time.

This reminds me of a video i saw where they talked about how in wolfenstein enemy territory the guns were the exact same but players thought they were different in stats because the allied SMG had a louder sound then the axis SMG and therefore obviously it’s more powerful.
if this happened with the old devour you’d be dead, but because of the visual change you chalk it up to the hauling thing.

The problem is the system is so strange nobody knows how it works until they look at the code or have someone else explain it (and it barely ever gets explained because nobody knows how it works)
Every hit from inside while devoured (or whatever it’s called now) has an RNG chance to insta gib you, based on your remaining hp. I believe the chance is 0% above 25% hp but once you drop below 25% hp the chance gets higher and higher. Been a while since I looked at the code so the numbers might be off but it’s something like that anyway.
I’m pretty sure most people assume that you would die when you hit 0 hp so people don’t play as cautiously as they need to. It’s not intuitive at all.

The code for bursting out has not been changed when it comes to the chance to gib the xeno depending on their hp
