Ive recently saw this movie called Morbius and I think vamp needs to be updated to fit with real vampire lore.
To recap: vamps DONT suffer from garlic, holy water, or crosses and can manipulate bats to frag people. Also immune to fire yep. This Morbius guy frags a lot of noobs while at it and beat another vamp in honest XvX combat, so this is an indication that decent xod-fearing vamp players must be able to get at LEAST 20 frags per round and yet this doesn’t happen anymore. Maintainers explain?

just got an idea, if you have a garlic/onion in your inventory/hands you automatically have a 3x3 shield around you from all vamp lurkers. move this to ideaguys NOW

Personally i prefer Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Vampire lost its stun from its tail-stab. This basically increased the skill ceiling of the role to the point only the high-level players can make the role work as the stun on hit made the Vampire combo work.
Removing the vampire stun on hit is basically akin to removing a warrior’s lunge, spitters acid on hit or a lurkers stun. You basically remove the roles only real way to initiate its “combo” which leaves it wanting.
A very good player can still make the role work and can continue to do all the things people complained about, but for anyone else you feel useless.
Perhaps the real way forward is not nerfing strains and castes, but banning good players.
Not all them baby, also already primed it, gotta take breaks and work on priming other castes

The fact a good player can do well without the stun means the stun was unnecessary.
Imo it made the caste too lacking in counterplay. It has never been a vital part of the combo, nor the combo necessary in and of itself, it just made it much easier to pull off and escape.
The power in vlurker resides in its dmg, speed (and thus, control of fights, control of engagements), ease of escape, and low ability cd. The stun removal impacts their hit and run ability, and its excessive consistency in many situations
This impacts good players by limiting options significantly.
This creates more weakness in vamps kit, which good Marines can use to counterplay. They won’t drop their weapons because of microstun, so they can fight back in more scenarios.
So as to say, good players beat good players. And, the skill floor never needed to be so low in the first place. Less uncounterable stuns is better game feel for Marines.
