Bushmans guide to advanced death pills.

It’s me, Professor Bushman back again. Picture this. You’re a humble backliner marine. Collecting intel and you get a ping on your MD. Then bam lurker got you and you’re dragged back to the hive.

It’s happened to the best of us. In these situations many a marine has opted to commit suacide. Guns work but if you’r looking to be recovered a simple poison pill works too. However such methods are a bit permanent. But thanks to the power of SCIENCE this can be avoided.

Introducing my new anti cap death pills. You have 2 pills and they work in tandem with each other.

Pill 1- The killer pill. A mix of 30u sulfuric acid, 15u oxycodone, 20u of kelo.

Pill 2- a mix of 20u of sleen, 15u of dermaline, 15u of dylo, and 7.5u of MB.

The idea is simple. If you fear that in the next few seconds you will get capped. Take pill 1. You will die shortly after. But unlike other toxins you can still fight and have a good amount of time to possibly get away or kill the lurker. Recommended you take it before combat itself starts.

If you do somehow escape. Then take pill 2. It will instantly cure you of all damage taken from pill 1.

Thats it enjoy.

I worry that this might be a form of metagaming. It doesn’t really make sense for marines to be preparing suicide pills for themselves when they, typically, don’t even know they’re going to be engaging xenos.

I can maybe understand it in the case of something like an intelligence officer, who has potentially important knowledge they would need to protect from interrogators. But Lance Corporal John AW Rifle probably doesn’t need to be carrying around a Sepoku pill (and IC would be investigated for carrying it if they were ever found out).

Easy jsut say its to avoid capture by CLF or UPP.

Same reason IRL spys and british SAS carried cyanide on them. Also like you know xenos do exist. So like hmmmm well it is possible that it might be xeno so i will take the pill jsut in case.

Also we both know no MP would give 2 shits about a marine carrying these. Lets be real.

Also like everything in this is metagaming at this point. You coiuld say its meta gaming to kill yourself. But like everyone does it. So clearly the admins dont mind.

Not like abusing a bug or anything.

How is the #1 pill supposed to kill you even?
I mean, granted if you have more than 30 damage on you at any point during the capping process - it might just barely land you into crit and you (very slowly) die from oxyloss, but the only thing in it that harms you is sulphuric acid, with a toxin damage per unit of chemical of 5, consumed at 0.1u every 2 seconds.
So this ends up at 75 toxin damage after, checks napkin, 5 minutes.
And getting stunned (tackled) will remove your chems progressively.
So this seems seriously ineffective on paper in its stated goal.

Hmm perhaps i got my notes wrong cause when i tested it death accured much faster.

Let me check it agian.

Oh yeah i said 15u. I think in the orgional it was 30u.

I tested this a long time ago so i might be forgetting something

Also huggers can stabilise a crit cap now, so you really don’t want something that takes minutes to act.
You would want to hit crit OD on a funny chem that doesn’t leave you heartbroken, like 31u of oxy for example (deals hilariously stupid damage under severe OD)

yeah but so long as you got some acid left you should die anyway.

So i think 30u of acid should do.

What do you think.

This is why i post beta version of these guides for feedback. But well no one posted feedback.

I would go with crit chloral hydrate OD, 26 units (OD is 15, bad OD is 25), by the time you metabolize one unit to get under crit OD you will have gained 150 oxygen damage (trivial to reverse) and 55 toxin damage, without any permanent organ damage like with any other fast-acting chem.
Downside of this obviously is you’ll be stunned almost immediately until it wears off, which, even if you take a dex+/dylo “antidote” to avoid the almost immediately dying part, will be in.. about 9 minutes.

These aren’t super secret spies operating in foreign territory, they’re marines. If you hand out standard issue suicide pills to every rifleman morale will PLUMMET, think about what every single marine needing a suicide pill on their person says for the situation at large. The implication of issuing them is that the risk of capture is so high that you’ve not only calculated that it’s worthwhile to issue the pill to every single marine, you’ve also decided the situation is so bad the morale hit doesn’t even matter.

(And that’s not even mentioning the PR side of things. An admission of defeat like that is TERRIBLE for the Corps’ optics.)

that’s what the pill is for

To that i say. You taking this 2d gas pressure similator from 2003 too seriously and no one puts that much thought into it so who cares.

If okay for CO to order that comtechs use no metal only sandbags to make FOB then it okay to do this.

eh that kind of defeates the purpose. Like if you want the pill to jsut murder you then use lexorin or something.

The point of this was for you able to fight during the dying proccess and possible esacpe without dying. But ensureing that if you dotn escape you still die.

With chloral hydrate you pass out. Like whats the point?
