It’s me Professor Bushman back again. This guide is going to be a short yet simple one. Yes you can build robots in CM. Using the power of legacy code the new age is upon us. One where our robot friends will assist us in battle. You don’t need medbuddies with a whitelist to have a robotic battle buddy anymore. No you cannot have a robot GF.
So there are 2 types of robots you can make. These are jani-bots and medi-bots. The first almost useless and second being super powerful if used well. Be aware you don’t need engi skills to make these.
.
Type 1- Jani bot.
Parts needed- (Bucket, proximity sensors. Cyborg arm.)
Step 1.
Take a bucket and with proximity sensors in hand slap it on.
Step 2.
Get a robotic arm from the medbay limb printer. Then slap it on the robot.
(Now the jani bot is mostly useless. CM has no nav mash for them to use. So they wont move unless they see something to clean. However, CM mess code is different from TG. They won’t clean most things. However if you use a screwdriver to open up the panel things get fun. There is a bit of old antag code inside them. You will see 2 new buttons and flick them both on. Now the jani bot will randomly vomit out blood that makes a huge mess. The jani bot will also clean up this blood but you can turn that off. So now you can make the entire ship dirty.)
.
Type 2- Medi-bots.
Parts needed- (Empty medkit, medscanner, proximity sensor, cyborg arm, bottle of chems.)
Step 1.
Get an empty medkit and slap a cyborg arm on it.
Step 2.
Take a hand held medscanner and slap it on.
Step 3.
Take a proximity sensor and slap it on.
Step 4.
Get an ID with medical access and swipe the robot to unlock it. Then insert a bottle of whatever medical chems you want inside. Swipe ID to close the controls again.
(So medi-bots will stay still until they see a hurt person. Then they will rush over to inject them. When the thing is unlocked you can control a lot of things. Such as how much they inject maxing out at 15u. The damage threshold a marine needs to hit before it will heal them. Plus some old antag code where you can turn off the OD safety features. Now medi-bots have 2 oddities about how they heal. First off their supply of chems are infinite as their able to synth more inside themselves like the Rsr tureing machine. At least thats what I think is happening. Either way when they inject people they never run out. Second off they only inject the chems the patient needs. So if they are loaded with a bottle of 30u of bric mixed with 30u of kelo. If you only have burn damage they will somehow only inject you with kelo. I suggest making robot making kits. Put the parts in a backpack with an instruction manual. Then deploy to the front via req. That way medics can build them in the field.)
