Chichii - Staff Report: Violation of Event Protocols - Idk

What’s your BYOND key:

Chichii

Round ID:

31608

Your character name:

Corrupted Prime Empress War

Their BYOND key:

Idk

What are you reporting?:

Violation of Event Protocols

Description of the incident:

— Corrupted are made. The Corrupted queen is Nah.
— She decides to betray, I go to get the other pylon so that corrupted can go for larva surge.
— She dies with the prime hive.
— I still go for the pylon. I cannot pylon because they destroy the core just in time.
— Corrupted Queen Mother makes an announcement that all corrupted that are shipside are to submit to the renegade queen mother or she would kill them.
( Mind you there are enough corrupted shipside that could have stirred up an issue and make some of the ground forces come back up and therefore relieve pressure.)
— Abomination Rka finds me as I’m contemplating trying to speak to the marines and says that she’s smart and can launch the dropship if we can get to it.
— We go, fail, and retreat. I tell Rka to try for LZ2 with a hope and a prayer.
— We go and can’t use it. Rka asks me to evolve, I say this hive is dead. He convinces me with sweet words. I evolve.
— I ovi.
— Rka fights like hell.
— We get the first round of caps.
— I mature after 10 minutes…
(Mind you, all the marines have wiped the prime hive, and there are TWO xenos groundside after a staff member gave all the corrupted larva away.)

— A green drone is still alive shipside.
— Rka and I tell it to pretend like it’s still alone.
— It walks up to the renegade queen and a staff member turns it renegade.
( For corrupted xenos to turn renegade, they have to have a tag BEFORE the queen breaks the alliance. They were just turning all the corrupted larva into renegade and telling them if they didn’t go along they would kill them.)

— I tell Rka, we’re cooked. Rka gives me another pep talk.

I lock in. Rka locks in. The drone locks in.

— We cap a lot of people.
— Renegade lands LZ2.
— We fight and move caps back. (Right now we also have a pylon.)
— We manage to break out of their attempted encirclement and retreat north, setting up a new hive.
— We cap three dudes that walk in as a trio.
— I get on ovi to make eggs for the new caps after helping set up egg morphers.
— Since the staff made a renegade hive and queen couldn’t kill us, they sent in a pred to kill the abom.
(It’s not even a pred round. It was spawned in exclusively to kill Rka.)
— The pred kills our only drone by firing an HPC into it.
— I get off OVI to try to protect my last two xenos.
— Screech the pred and kill him.

— Nuke goes off, we rush the lz and die.

Pretty much it was waves of admin bus, we got no compensation for it, no matter how well we played, how many people we killed/capped/etc. We had a chance to win but uh, waves of admin bus didn’t allow us to even get a real chance in.

[ Inquiry for staff ]
Why is the strongest xeno in existence telling her own brood to detach from her hive, submit to a queen that is lesser to her, foreign, and hostile to her and her hive (renegades are forced to ally with humans and forced to be hostile ), or she will psychically kill them? This does not keep with the mRP standard and is not immersive at all.

[ In Short ]
— A Renegade queen was made. (Feral, renegade, tamed, forsaken - all intentionally and mechanically cannot have queens. This is their intended weakness. For renegade it is the function of betraying your queen that you cannot make one of your own. This is all intended.)
— All corrupted larva where removed from the hive and given to the renegade hive.
— Two xenos are fighting like hell at LZ2. ( Abomb Rka & Myself)
— A lot of admin bus happened this round and it was excessive and not fair to those still trying to play the game.

i spawned the pred, everything else was hippie (i think). this round was nearing 3 hours so i spawned a predator to kill the full 10 kill abom and speed up the round

I don’t have a lot to add to the report as Chi has summed it up.

I understand that the round was going on for a long while and probably alot of players in Dchat. However, from what I gathered, people were actually enjoying the round and had a lot of shipside RP going on at the time. But we have mechanics placed into the game for this exact purpose.

These mechanics being like the Nuke. Which the marines did get. A natural balancer, however, ontop of that. Marines received a renegade queen (Which is actually a massive buff) and then additionally a Predator to come hunt me down in a hive of 4. And the best part of it all. The hive of 4 (3 after pred) survived everything thrown at them until the very last push for the LZ. (Which we probably could have taken or took out the relays).

And so, for surviving against all odds and beating everything thrown at the corrupted hive of 4. They get nothing but more shit thrown at them with no rewards. I am not saying that the admins should have rewarded the corrupted. But maybe just left it alone and let the game play out naturally?

Without the Renegade Queen existing, we could have pushed the renegades harder at the LZ2 but instead we got forced to run which delayed the round longer. Additionally if the larva weren’t force changed, we could have had some shipside mischief or less renegades to deal with. Which once again, wouldn’t delay the round as much as it did. Obviously there are more variables to what I said above but if the round was left to deal with itself, it would have probably worked out fine.

But thats my input to this report. Cheers.

I was the CMP for the last 2 or so hours this round, and I believe I have some contributions to make not otherwise mentioned.

There was a whole separate mRP to hRP arc going on involving the ASO covering up the black market in cargo, the ASO ordering myself and another MP to arrest the CMB, the CMB doing actual paperwork and investigation in order to report to high command for HC deputization, SmellyHippie coming in as Provost Marshal to teach the entire ship Marine Law, and a raid on cargo which almost turned into a mutiny. There was an entire separate investigation planned for the CMO because of the hives turning. This separate arc involve the XO, SOs, SEA, ASO, QM, CE (tangentially), Cargo Techs, and of course the entire MP department.

The RP throughout this entire round was absolutely fantastic from my perspective, an included Jesus Delgato and another MP leading “re-education” for Mason Spike after Spike was identified as having communist leanings. The “re-education” consisted of Delgato singing the Star Spangled banner in from of a UA flag we planted in CIC, while at various points I asked Spike if he “Loved his country yet.” I do not think such quality RP was limited to this singular instance either. Thus, I believe the round was justified in being prolonged.

I was the ASO during this round. Sorry it took so long to find this I don’t generally check the forums often.

Was mostly playing this round while at work there was some shipside shenanigans going on that was absolutely wild. but as for WHY the xenos on the ship switched hives was because we were sitting in research and holding them at gunpoint. I think it was me and the SEA were standing there with MK1s and telling them to switch from corrupted to renegade, or be executed on the spot. One by one. And the one that did fight back got absolutely brutalized which scared the others into changing.

MEANWHILE the CMB who were there to do a black market investigation, broke into research and started to take pictures of everything, and losing their minds. So I was ordering their arrest for being in a classified area taking pictures of top secret materials.

Overall though, you guys really gave the marines a god damn run for their money though. I was listening to the round the entire time, but there was more going on shipside than it totally seemed from the ground.

I remember waking up from cryo as a rifleman in the middle of the round unaware about all the xeno factions and headed to the alamo. At the alamo I noticed the corrupted drone and clarified with command which flavor of xeno is good and which ones are bad. They noted that the “piss” colored xenos are good and green are bad, which I spoke to command that there was a passive green drone on the alamo. Command ordered me to kill the drone, which I disobeyed and just kept watch until the CE came along and wanted the drone to come to research.

We began pointing to the drone to follow with the full intention of gunning it down if it decided to run away. Eventually the drone made it to research and was promptly converted (note: I examined the drone beforehand and spoke on how it did have an IFF tag placed). I remember seeing text that RP’ed on why the drone was successfully converted. To me I felt satisfied RP wise that this was a good action done that rewarded us by not being bloodthirsty. I then promptly went SSD in research and was thrown back into cryo by someone.

My two cents in the matter is that the round was going for a long time and the show must come to a close. It is likely quicker for the remaining corrupted to die off than to just allow them to slowly crawl back to victory and have to deal with hijack. It is undeniable that you with your experience as queen could have made a comeback without the admin intervention, but that would mean the round may have taken 1-2 hours longer to end. I would consider that the best form of praise that admin intervention was required due to your ability to clutch the round.

With the nuke available and being deployed I don’t think it was necessary to take action.

Regardless, as Renegades are mechanically incapable of getting a Queen this should not have been altered without an exceptional cause.

I don’t believe either member of staff acted out of malice, but nor do I consider the actions necessary considering the state of the round at the time.
