Background Information
Left by his parents at a fire station Axel would spend the majority of his youth in an orphanage where he developed a liking for tinkering with small devices he would frequently scavenge from dumpsters. During one of his scavenging runs Axel would come across a man, later identified to be [REDACTED], an information broker with heavy ties to the Weyland-Yutani corporation, who promised to give Axel more devices if he provided the man with information he found important.
This business relation continued until Axel was too old to pull off the innocent little kid act in order to eavesdrop on conversations, nevertheless, determined to maintain relations with his supplier Axel opted for a change in strategy. Seeking a waiting job on a ball Laiselle Bionational was throwing to celebrate the company’s anniversary, Axel planned to clone the credentials of a company higher up using a device he fashioned from parts given to him by the data broker.
Following the heist he was taken in by the data broker and given formal weapons training as well as formal education in Electronics Engineering all so he could join a Whiteguard Solutions acquisition team and use his mastery of devices to gain access to otherwise secure facilities in a covert fashion.
Not much is known of the 4 years Axel spent in Whiteguard Solutions, given W-Y’s propensity for covering up their less savoury business and Axel’s refusal to divulge it. What is known, however, is that Axel’s last assignment went catastrophically bad, causing the majority of his team to be killed or severely injured, Axel himself spent several months in coma, being placed in stasis in between interventions. Despite the lengthy healing process, Axel was able to make a full recovery, however, the company had terminated Axel’s contract shortly after the mission and, as such, he was no longer covered by Whiteguard’s insurance, meaning he had to pay for his entire treatment, which was rather expensive.
Now unemployed, low on funds and extremely angry at W-Y for what they had done to him Axel procured employment within the United Americas Armed Forces, eventually being accepted into the DNOP’s CIU where it was determined his skills and experience would be most useful.
