Clarify whether Xenomorphs using hive metaprotection to deny survs gear falls under rule 6.

I am getting quite exhaused from xenomorphs placing their hive on LV-522 directly ontop of surv gear and in various places on LV-624, such as in Engineering, where they deny survs access to a hold.

You plap down your core, and volla, forecon scout can’t get cloak. Tries to fight back? Erm, sweetie, it’s actually xeno hive so you cant do that here!! Larvas are fucking standing still as surv rushes gear, trying to abuse the fact that survs can’t actually kill xenos in hive to get their shit! You’re not supposed to know that I cannot actually kill anyone until they evo t1. See surv? Run the fuck away. Don’t try to evo right on top of me so you can cap me faster.

The exact same thing happens almost every time on LV-522, and I would really much like for xenos to lose hivecore protection in this case, this is as extremely meta way to secure scout gear without scout being able to respond if you planted a core fast enough.

As far as I am aware regarding our rules, the only restriction on survivors actions regarding attacking the hive is they can not do so before the xenomorphs have had a chance to evolve into a Drone, which typically takes 60 seconds after round start.

Now, whether it makes sense strategically to place a hive in a very forward position just to deny survivors access to loot is an interesting question, but not a policy or rule one in my opinion, as it would fall into the same category as a hydro-hive, a high risk move.

Now, if this is a question of xenomorphs intentionally exploiting their OOC protection to prevent survivors from accessing meta-gear by intentionally placing the hivecore in a meta-spot before someone has had a chance to evolve into a Drone (which I suspect would be hard as you only have a 60 second window to do this and only the Queen could do this, who would at this stage basically be a 500hp Drone), then I would suggest sending an admin help as this might constitute a meta-gaming rule break.

This is my opinion however, not a management ruling.

If xenos make an engi or hydro hive on LV-624, it is every survivor’s duty to rush them down and kill them all.

Basically if xenos hive somewhere that isn’t a safe spot, they void all metarush protection the hive would normally have, as far as a I understand it and how Steelpoint said it.

isnt it pretty much an unwritten rule that if queen decides to get out of the hive spawn point to hive in a dangerous place that you can shoot the queen to death?
If there isnt a clarification about that then nows the time then.

there should be no meta protections on attacking hive, but the queen should get a praetorian who is required to guard them and the hive until at least first drop, so if the praetorian fails to protect the queen, it is a skill issue

Xenos should have 4 gauss sentries around the hive and they stay operational for 20 minutes.

No it’s not clear, there’s been a super old rule that you can’t attack the queen if she’s immature unless she attacks you first.

wdym. Its “wait till the hive has T1s” not immature queen
Queen can screech on ovi which can fuck you up. And a lot of xenos are in the hive AFKing.

Basically what Steelpoint said said with an addendum. If the minute it takes xenomorphs to evolve is so incredibly detrimental to survivor team’s ability to acquire survivor loot, that is something that would ultimately need to be addressed by mappers, not rule-makers.
