Seeing as CLF survivors were entirely reworked, which maps are the best to hold as CLF, and which ones are downright horrendous to the point where it makes you consider ‘Did a xeno main develop these holds?’
Kutjevo Insert gets an insanely buffed out compound in the southeast and it’s fantastic. Meanwhile, LV has the crashed ship in the caves on the wrong side of the fog, absolute slaughterhouse.
Hybrisa has a very barebones start but is honestly probably the most surv-loot map we have in rotation right now, alongside the insert spawn being northern enough to run for Aerodrome metal almost instantly.
Overall, odds are decent. I still like Kutjevo the best because if you can survive the bugs in okay shape you may legitimately be able to contest the Marines with it.
NV insert is also out of the way, on the western side of the map. They’re usually out of the way of the action, if you could say that NV has any action in the first place…
The LV insert is unplayable (at least for me) and will be until a gauranteed fog gap comes into play, given how many flanks there are to get in, and how you’re fucked fighting against T3s (boilers, ravs, the whole nine yards) with nothing but MARs and shotguns. Maybe an M56D if you can get it into place.
The exception to that is survivor synth, because you don’t perma, and at least (unless the queen comes and gibs you) then you’ll get RP either way (unless the marines throw your corpse under the dropship or refuse to bring you back online)
Don’t roll it expecting to survive past the first 20 minutes
Everything else I haven’t gotten to try super in-depth. The Solaris Ridge one is fun to hold, even if you do die because you’re in the caves, and the Trijent Dam hospital crash looks awesome
You know the LV insert has been changed recently too right? It’s much easier to actually hold now, more metal too.
They blocked some of the flanks off but burrowers can still get in. Also you are still uhm.
on the other side of the fog
If no one else, does it in the next day, I’ll make a edit to the CLF insert to guarantee a fog gap.
The game has never been designed with the expectation that survivors would be surviving north of the fog (at least not since 2016), and the CLF have always been a weird exception since the CLF crash was an ultra-rare event.
Every time I’ve seen this insert in a round, including the times I played as a part of it, we’ve survived by easily holding the south with M56Ds and lots of flares on the beach, and the east can be held by a single dude with a bi-podded MAR-50 and some flares, if need be.
The cave walls don’t break away until something like xx:27 or xx:25 minutes into the round, and if your team is coordinated enough and doesn’t immediately decide to rush out, its a decent hold.
Burrowers are a non-issue with a pair of people and some shotguns.
what fucking rounds have YOU been playing? i wish i had teammates like that
i play towards lowpop more, so may be that explains it
