More or less just the bog standard shortwave radio but it can be clip on your armor like a medal, that way it not taking up any of your storage space.
i was thinking it could be part of a SL kit, 5 or 4 to a box. that way the SL can keep one for themselves and give the rest out to important members of the squad… I.E the FTLs. also i think that as part of the kit you would also get one full set of squad radio keys and one command key, one megaphone, one radio pack, two Cas flare packs, one motion detector.
(the idea behind the command key so you can give it to your second in command of your squad)
still even if the kit itself is not the best, perhaps just making it so you could buy the shortwaves could also work.
Edit: on second thought the kit doesn’t need two cas flare packs, after all you get one pack at base line… three Cas flare packs would be a little much.
well yes but you also can get a kit for MK2 as well… which you can just get one from the gun vender. largely yes a SL comms kit is not strictly necessary but having readily grabbed kit with every thing would be nice.
largely the reason i was thinking it should be in kit is that CLIP on shortwaves should not be the base line, as shortwave radios get around not having comms up and the biggest reason no one uses them is that they don’t want use up the space in their load out.
that’s also why i say just having clip on radios can also work as point items, it just need some level of scarcity.
That and the fact that there is only one available channel and that you have to activate it manualy to talk, so people leave it on and then whole thing is just a mess of people wanting to say something and some just talking, so might as well this doesn’t exist at all.
We need the vanilla code for radios where you can set your custom frequency.
I don’t care about that small slot in my satchel being used on a radio that much, really.
