CM cannot do without its daily dose of LV. We need to put it to rehab. Ban LV from rotation for a month.
Player count drops to 0
can we get much lower
After so many mid-to-trash maps sometimes only the OG hits right. Nobody wants low-grade horse injected into their eyeballs, they want that OG hit.
lv and solaris are probably the only maps on cm without ledges which is why i love them so much
NEVERMIND PRED TEMPLE HAS LEDGES AT THE PLATFORM RAAAAAH
CORSAT is the best map.
Who the hell is fighting in the Pred temple though?
We should bring ice v1 back for a month so these ungrateful bastards relearn to appreciate LV.
That was the christmas episode remember?
The LV-624 addiction can be controlled if we made it a map can’t be replayed until 2 different maps have been rotated through.
I am honestly so intrigued at what would happen if LV was removed for a month. Just as an experiment. Would the marine cope reach maximum overdrive, or would nature finally heal?
Wouldn’t it be Cave dweller cope?
Lv and solaris are just really good maps and always fun to play…
for me, playing mostly lv and solaris is great. I am only sad that Trijent Dam doesn’t get played more, since that map is also good.
The rest of the maps are not very good imo…
Nah, LV is one of the most marine sided maps its insane. Every time just feels like you are stuck at cave entrences until nuke, unless some dumbfuck CO/XO wants every marine to suicide charge and flank.
Then isn’t it also xeno sided given no one can get to hive core?
Well, it would be a xeno sided map, if it wasn’t for the timer to be on the marines side. If marines just hold cave entrences for 2 hours, they win. If xenoes just holds caves for 2 hours, they lose. It dosn’t matter that you can’t get into caves, if you can just keep xenoes inside of it the entire game, holding 2/3 of the map.
There’s still some significant points of failure for marines. Backline (especially medics) and securing the cave entrances are some of the more common ones imo. If comms goes out while marines are securing cave entrances, then it can be devastating to a front and is a lot more common then cade permasiege.
Not only will it separate a large amount of marines, lowering the firepower of front, it will also hamper their teamwork greatly.
It also depends on a good beach break, where if marines get fucked over more then xenos, then xenos will have a lot more advantage in countering marines.
And most people would take advantage of a clean beach break by NOT camping outside caves, since low xeno numbers will recover over time. They’ll push caves and risk it.
It’s not common to just hold cades for 2 hours either… you usually will get solo marines pushing, and then getting capped. It’s a bad scenario sure, but not unbeatable, after all there is 4 cave routes to push and many ways to slowly siphon marines off a front.
All to say lv-624 is not marine sided, since points of failure go both ways. Depends more on which side is more scary, imo. And being scary is a result of a lot more then just cades, but also how decisively you move, how much you can kill, how much your teamwork works, general skill/usefulness of players, and flow of the round (which side is more favored).
That’s my opinion though. There’s always gonna be games where marine strat is permasiege on cave entrances, but its so rare that it does not make the map marine favored just by existing. nor is it inherently powerful enough to just lead to free victories.
Will say, I mostly play on medium to high pop. And none of the issues you stated are ever an issue because of the amount of marines. Backline? You have about 5-7 people who go out in groups the entire game hunting backlined alongside scout. Comms? It also has about 10 people guarding it, or its one of those “One entrance only, and it has a fire sentry” going on where its basicly indestructable. And a breach from caves to beach? 'Absolute slaughter, as its pushing into the most open area in the entire game, where marines hold all the advantage.
The only points of failure i can ever see, is marines being impatient and getting themselves capped. But that is litterary just a skill issue that happens on both sides.
If you play on highpop, every map is marine sided, if you play on lowpop every map is xeno sided
The exception is New Varadero, because NV sucks dick and is a hellish slog for both sides involved. The eternal FOB siege map needs a third rework already…
