So, youve decided to roll SL/XO/Queen, or have promoted to aCO from your prior position as CMO. Aight, well, ill tell ya what I know.
What this will NOT cover: How to Lose, How to win, wide-reaching plans.
What this WILL cover: How to not lose.
So, marines have landed, and have begun to push forwards. Lovely. Now, what can YOU do?
Order of needs:
- Reaching the front
- Being equipped for the fight
- Comms and unga to unga communication
- Everything else.
What this actually means:
- Marines cant fight if they cant find their enemy
- Marines cant fight effectively without ammo
- Marines will get surrounded if they cant scream “QUEEN” every 3 seconds.
So, your prioritys should be: Updateing tacmap/telling people location of the fight. Preferably, use N/S/E/W, as some people dont have every map memorized. After that, make sure requ is doing its job, and marines are aware of where supplies are. Finally, make sure comms stays up at all costs.
However, despite your best efforts, youve started to lose. How do you recover? Organization. Make a clear and concise fallback plan, as soon as the front becomes untennable, order a fallback in N/S/E/W terms. Make sure marines REGROUP once the fallback has been achieved. The difference between a total front wipe and a 50% wipe is minutes.
Finally, other tidbits:
If you cant push it, CAS it. If you cant CAS it, OB it. If you cant OB it, fall back.
Do not get cocky. When marines quickly push, its a recipe for them to get scattered and picked off one by one. This applies to xenos too.
Information is KING, label EVERYTHING on the tacmap, and send regular updates. Announce locations of queen and downed marines constantly, as well as the location of supply drops. And make certain to TELL marines your reasoning for falling back if you are falling back preventatively, and make sure the reason is good. Frankly, make shit up if you have to.
