CO Feedback (Forums)

Add a CO Feedback section to the forums. If a CO WANTS a feedback thread, they create it. No one else can create a feedback thread except the CO that it’s about. From there, players can post as they feel necessary. General rules against toxicity and shit-talking in place of course.

Anything negative put in a CO’s thread CANNOT BE ACTED ON/used as behavioral reference by the WL Council, even stuff that would be valid as a WL Report.

It’s a way to help COs improve/address people’s complaints about them without it being a player report; if a CO’s gimmick is consistently unfun, give me a place to say that without bothering them on Discord. The players that are all consistently affected by the CO’s gameplay can discuss their issues w/ it in a constructive manner.

Positive shit is of course encouraged to go in there too. Keeps COs from getting burnt out and tells them what works/people enjoyed

Maybe I’m being too optimistic here and it’d just devolve into shitflinging. I’m permab& anyway so it’s not like I’m super invested, just something that popped into my head while I was taking a smoke break

Just ping them on Discord? If they’re not going to listen to you on there they’re not going to listen to a forum post.

Not everyone uses Discord, I don’t like messaging people unprompted on Discord, Discord is explicitly shortform & fleeting, and I dont know any of the CO’s ckeys/discord names nor do I want to

It’s entirely optional & up to the COs if they want to participate I just think a lot of them would and the forum (being longform) is the best place for it

You can DM them on the forums if you want

COs can already make a thread for feedback, we don’t need a dedicated page for it

Interesting idea but quite frankly it’s unnecessary. If you have comments for any whitelisted player you can just tell them in last round chat or just ping them in general. What’s the point of all us being on a discord server if we don’t put effort into communicating with one another? The vast majority of whitelisted players will happily give advice or accept criticism from anyone.

Would make more sense for potential new whitelist applicants to make feedback threads so they gauge the communities reaction to their mechanical and roleplay skills. An aspiring new XO player who wants to apply to CO someday, or a support main attempting to master medical for Synth needs a lot more feedback than someone who has already taken the time and effort into grinding hours, applying and getting accepted.

Wonder why we don’t have public forum threads for PR feedback or why literally all threads of that kind get locked

Yeah just message the CO on discord if you have issue or wanna give tips or ask questions.

If you’re not coming in to rant I think most of us would appreciate it.

If you are coming in to rant I might just drop shitty memes at you until you go away.

Seems like it’d only be used for egotripping tbh, as have been said, other options exist, this would probably end up as just flamewars and clouthounds, at least that’s my bet.

(But hey both of those things are funny so maybe do it anyway)

Or reach out to CO council on discord too. If you think a way CO is playing or dont know if you need to report it pass it up to the CO council and see what they say.

Because CM discussion channel literally isn’t used for CM discussion

just add a general player feedback category if we are going this route, why lock another thing to WLs

If you have a whitelist you basically need to have a discord account. Every single person with a CO WL must be on the main discord- e.g. if you get discordbanned, that effectively kills your existing CO WL.

Given that every CO is on discord, and people are far easier to reach on discord- I really don’t see why you wouldn’t just DM them there. Hell, you can DM people on the forums- Though given people are relatively more inactive here, I doubt you’d get much of a timely response.

Really, we don’t need more thread categories on the forums. As others said, if someone wants feedback, they can ask for it in LRC or make a general forum thread themselves.

again maybe people dont want to use platforms that sell your data to insurance companies for them to hike your coverage after you say “i had cancer from playing with laurencia beck cmp” in discord dms

Then send a private message on the forum.

you can also just use a throwaway account if your scared of using PI when making an account

tbh i don’t see the harm, literally everything tracks your information anyway

as a reminder,

and as a resolution to this, i’m not particularly interested in adding this to the forums. like people have suggested, players are always welcome to just make a post in Discussion wanting character feedback
