Hello.
I’ve been in trouble for quite some time. Everytime I was banned, I believe it was justified entirely. I don’t hold it against staff for banning me, and I do think I was in the wrong for my previous notes/ban history.
However.
This is the one ban I can’t wrap my head around. I don’t particularly mind if this appeal is denied or approved, I’ve been playing without being able to choose my name for quite some time now. It’s just a neat thing to be able to do in general.

I was playing Jonathan Stewart. It was a rolled name. It applied under this exception as well, so it should not have been punished “Exceptions
A name comprised of extremely common names (I.E John Williams) can be excused for being shared with someone famous, provided the player is not attempting to imitate or overtly reference the linked person.”.
I recommended another rolled character name. The name was Karson Eggbert. Eggbert to this day can be rolled as a last name. The way the nameban itself is worded itself sounds like these were bad or uncommon names. My current char, Johnny Pennington, is an example that the naming system can roll comical/unusual names to limited effect.
Even on the matter of comedics, I don’t think Karson Eggbert is particularly bad as a name either. Recently, I have rolled “Bartholomew Harshman” as a name, which sounds like a joke name, yet can genuinely be a name. It’s weird having arbitrary punishments for a otherwise subjective matter.
From what I am aware, the Rule 9 violation was for either Jonathan Stewart - Wikipedia or for Jon Stewart - Wikipedia, but the issue is these are both incredibly niche celebrities that I was not aware of until I looked into further reasons behind the ban.
During the initial ban, I had forgotten to explain that both were rolled, which likely resulted in the way things went. I have both of these chars saved, but I have yet to touch them to this day as I am planning to replace their slots with new things.
At the end of the day, I don’t mind the status of this appeal. I’ve played without it for months, but to reiterate, it’s still nice to have.
