If we’ve squabbled about that countless times over two days, am I supposed to assume that wasn’t intentional, or that three letters was too titanic of an effort?
If you’re going to pick the one exception, could you not have picked a better example than the one where the main cast was purposefully portrayed as the most confident and macho group of dudes possible before showing how that confidence and machismo got them killed to the last by something more macho and confident than all of them put together? It’s like building a case against asking for consent because a jock in a horror movie got pushy with his girlfriend before the special effects team gave him the most gruesome and justified death in the movie.

im fully convinced that 90% of CM13 players are actually 13yos that need to be saved from seeing bad words (r-word) and literally anything that could possibly be offensive to somebody, so the management is actually doing God’s work!!
or its grown ass men and women that are somehow offended by simple words like the mentioned r-word and et-cetera that dont even carry the intent of deeply insulting somebody. dont get me wrong banning words like da n word is a no problem, it just gets absurd when every insult HAS to be banned.
as for the arty’s “real life marines go through sensitivity training” you gotta remember that colonial marines are highly inspired by vietnam-era USMC which is a completely different time and norms. Halo has Avery Johnson throwing some lines there and here, you got Blain from Predator saying his all-known line, and warhammer 40k is just full of all that: peek at any chaos cultist, guardsman or hive-gangers.

That you are potentially offended by a single word and willing to jump to offense so fast is exactly why you shouldn’t be listened to when it comes to determining if something is offensive.

My clarification is that I am not going to make an effort to call them anything special. They are not my friend, I dont know them. I am willing to make the barest of effort because I dont truely like pissing people off… but with how pissed off I am I will likely default to my normal speech which is “bro”.

(Which is why I do not consider people throwing it around to mean anything, considering the initial word bans are already spiralling into new ones, and new bans are likely to occur in the future).
