Have you read the role guidelines and expectations?

Yes.

Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?

I wish to be a fax responder as I have had a large number of faxes, goods ones that were pertinent to the round, that were never answered by staff. With a larger pool of people able to respond to faxes means roles like the CL and MPs will have a greater chance of someone responding to their requests.

One of my best CL rounds was thanks to Titus Hill responding to the fact that the colony dog I got was killed by a marine. He was able to get staff to authorize a team to kidnap and torture the dog killer. I still refer to this round as my white collar John Wick round.

What do you consider the purpose of this role?

I see two purposes for this role - one is so CLs, CCs, and other roles have someone to consult and play opposite of with their faxes. The other is to act as a staff extender, because there’s fax responders in the role means that staff can focus on enforcing rules instead of trying to write out a quick fax for the CL or MPs.

Finally, fax responders are there to act as a last resort where certain questions have to be answered before events in round can proceed but there are no staff present at the time. The classic example of this is a CO that breaks ML but there’s no staff to authorize an arrest. In this case, the decision should go to the provost communications officer and then to the High Command communications officer if the provost is not present. So in sum, they act like a safety net for some procedures to go through if a staff are not present on the server which is often the case in low pop.

+1 I trust him to RP well and be measured in his responses. A long time and fantastic Mentor. Good luck!

Same question I asked the other 2. Per the rules of the WL, you may only call the Almayer under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances

What would you define that as?

Pretty good mentor who know’s how to RP, Coyote also helped other mentors learn how to be fax responders when we had test access to the role. +1

The WL is as a fax responder and as such you should always be using your fax as a default for communication. Furthermore, the WL page on the wiki does not offer much in the way of guidance of what exceptional circumstances would be so the best I can do is try to figure it out via how I’d like it to be used.

With that said, I can see a few circumstances - one is if a staff member okays it. This could be useful if an event requires it and the communications officer can act as an event character as well. The other circumstance I could see maybe having to use a phone is an unresponsive MP department that intends to execute someone who’s appeal has been accepted.
