Description of the incident:

If I remember right (played several rounds today), hijack was in its late stages with the main Marine hold and UPP ERT wiped out. Crash was in Upper Fore in the Brig. I saw a group of survivors above Upper Engineering, however assumed them wiped out. I was sweeping the upper side of the ship for anyone left since game was near being over. I slash the APC at the Pump, and proceed to head back down when I run into the Synth and the Marine. Instead of repairing the APC, or ushering the Marine to an escape pod, the Synthetic chases me off the pump into CIC to the extent of running AHEAD of me to block me in the doorway.

Synth priorities during Delta Alert are “survival of their crew” as well as “medical care, evacuation of others, and maintaining defenses”. Priority is still “of assisting in lifesaving medical procedures, and facilitating the evacuation to a safe location for team personnel.”

“The option of engaging hostiles is available, but a Synthetic would only use it as necessary”

Chasing me (in the direction of the Hive) off the pump, to the point of bodyblocking me in the reception doorway, is a neglect of all the priorities for a Synthetic during Delta Alert through risking themselves and the Marine with them alongside failing to prioritise the evacuation of the crew.
Bodyblocking itself is ruled out in the area defense section: “Body blocking the target’s escape is also to be considered a violation of self-preservation programming.” but I won’t pretend to understand the Synth rules enough to make huge mention of it.

Hello, I’m Adrian.

Myself and a Marine (Chad Creatone iirc) were at upper as he asked me to accompany him to retrieve a dead marine. Considering our hold was at hangar we went from astronav ladders and recovered him from SE CIC. Moving him into the north hallway where I defibbed and then performed surgery on him. We didn’t leave as comms were online and the Queen was reported in the Hangar and so instead I followed Chad around. We didn’t know the hive crashed into the Brig until later.

I am allowed to attack you as far as Delta Alert is concerned however for the bodyblocking I have no excuse and merely did it on instinct and for that I apologise and will take whatever punishment is deemed necessary in regards to it.

Hi, Chad here. First time on the forums. Just want to corroborate this so there’s as little confusion as possible.

As far as I knew, I had no idea the dropship hit the Brig. Seeing as Adrian was following me, I can only assume they didn’t know either, which judging by his reaction when we got there he didn’t. We both said something about it iirc.

Just wanted to iterate that there’s no hard feelings to either of you

Thankyou for the report.

After review and discussion the council has deemed no combat violations in the video, within the context of the round there were no crew injured or in need of evacuating that the synthetic would have been ICly aware of. Therefore there is no violation in the players choice to attack you, as the player did not abandon the marine to do so.

The council and I did however find in the report a violation of the self-preservation guidelines as the unit bodyblocked you in an effort to get you killed. A synthetic must not bodyblock xenomorphs subjecting themselves to danger for the sake of a kill.

The players synthetic history is close to perfect but this will has been treated as a violation, the player has been offically warned to not bodyblock again, any further violations of the same nature will be met with escalated punishment.
