Yautja Character Story:

A group of Marines suddenly rush up and start shooting you. How do you respond?

Context is incredibly important in a situation like this. It’s possible I’ve been mistaken for a xenomorph lurker, and for marines, anything beyond the scout that’s invisible is generally a shoot-on-sight. I would pull back and taunt marines with laughter and screams to ensure they know exactly what they’re getting into before actually engaging any of them in melee combat, rather than rushing in and immediately fighting the entire group at once.

Another Yautja hunted and killed a target you had marked. What do you do?

A grave offense, but not one worth immediately starting an honor duel over - I would go out of my way to ask them to apologize over the matter. Only if they refuse to apologize or hand over the trophy from the target (if any was claimed) would I look to escalate the matter further.

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

I’ve been away from CM for a very long while, and so in spite of having been on the server for around five or more years, I’m still a returning player that’s re-learning a lot of core mechanics or gameplay loops. I sincerely hope that my story remains a fun read, and that I remain an engaging player to interact with both in-game and out of it.

It is important to note that I was explicitly told I had a two week waiting period before applying again, due to the previous misunderstanding over hour requirements with my last application. If you have any curiosity surrounding certain possible scenarios whitelist holders might find themselves in, and how I might go about them, feel free to ask me questions!

Nothing’s changed in the last two weeks, he honestly should’ve gotten through last time.

I remember playing a VO round and he can definitely RP. I enjoyed him so far. I havn’t seen them do anything weird or questionable so far that might degrade their character. I’ve also ghosted him recently and I can confidently say that he has every ability to RP.

I havn’t read the story since I’m a little burnt out from ready at least 10 different pred stories over the past month but I’m more then sure it’s good stuff.

I can confidently say that he deserves my +1

You would have made an even better Loxzil…

Just sayin…

Hello

  1. You use your tracker to locate loose gear on the planet and realize a marine is carrying the part you are looking for. How will you get it back?

  2. You start a fight with a marine and halfway through some of his comrades jump in to help. What do you do?

  3. Another hunter has died in the caves. You check your tracker to see only one other gear part on the planet, a mask. What do you do in this situation?

  1. It depends on where the loose gear is on the planet. If the marine is carrying it near or on the frontline, or in the FOB, I’d instead wait for them to take it someplace more secluded, be it up onto the Almayer or out behind the frontline. If they’re planetside and not in either of those areas, I’d want to stalk them and try to make them realize they’re being hunted before immediately going for the kill, given they’re absolutely worthy prey. Shipside is a slightly different story - if the equipment’s being stored in a containment cell, it’s best to break in, get it, and get out without causing too much chaos. If it is on someone’s person, even if they’re temporarily dishonorable, it’s probably wise to simply try to grab them/stun them to get the gear (or if they’re visibly something like a private, threaten them for the equipment back before taking it by force).
  2. I finish the fight with the marine I started it with, and drag them away to take a small trophy like a helmet or knife before returning the body if I end up winning. There’s no point in continuing the fight once the specific prey I’m after is dead. If I get near critical condition, then I’ve lost, and it’s time to blow up, assuming I’m not near the frontline, FOB, or hive.
  3. Gear recovery is optional, and given anyone wearing the mask is probably the one that got the kill against the hunter, there’s probably little harm in letting them keep it, even if they didn’t explicitly win an honor duel. If it was a whole panoply of equipment, it might be worth recovering, but a single mask that’s probably being worn by the hunter’s killer is theirs to keep. To the victor go the spoils!

  1. Fine answer.

  2. Again fine.

  3. You’re answer here is okay but recovery of a pred body is very important as they are seen as sacred. But yes gear recovery is optional. Note that body recovery shipside is mandatory though so again I always suggest grabbing the body as soon as you can to prevent a shitshow on the Almayer.
