Yautja Character Story:

A group of Marines suddenly rush up and start shooting you. How do you respond?

In most situations I should likely be cloaked and thus would do my best to disengage and play emotes or voicelines to make the marines very aware I am neither a Lurker nor a scout getting pumped full of friendly fire. I will do my very best to disengage, and even decloak on the very periphery of their vision to show what I am truly. At that point, if they insist on violence, then they’ll reap the consequences and Todak-golo will obtain some new trophies that show his worth as a hunter.

Another Yautja hunted and killed a target you had marked. What do you do?

To steal marked prey is a grave insult to the hunter. Todak may be more reserved but would let no such slight go without legitimate supplication. Should the offender give him any reason to believe their apology is ingenuine or refuse to admit their fault in the first place, then Todak may have no other choice but to challenge to an honor duel and let skill and the Gods’ favour determine who is in the right.

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

I’ve done my best to learn what I can through Youngbloods through the patience and teachings of those with the whitelist and will always endeavor to improve my skill and understanding of this role in the game. I would like to believe I’m a good fit for the role and hope to get to prove that firsthand, though I’m sure my first attempts will be shaky and have some mistakes sprinkled in as I get comfortable and learn the ins and outs.

To those who have hosted the Youngblood events I could attend, I cannot thank you enough for giving me the chance to learn the basics before taking the plunge. I hope to join you all on the Hunting Grounds soon!

Beautiful story, compact - easy to digest, and best of all? It doesn’t lose quality, it just gets better.
More than happy to +1 this!
Amazing combat scene too.

I remember having you as a YB and you did excellent back then to the point where I was nudging you to consider joining my clan. That is before I knew you already made your choice.
I believe this should speak to the quality of this players and I hope to see you soon hunting alongside us.

These questions are not required for you to answer. But I would suggest you do. Either way, here they are.

Questions

  • You decided to teach Youngbloods and a hunter dies and his gear goes shipside. What should you do in this situation as the Youngblood’s mentor.
  • You are building a Lodge in a safe and secluded location when out of nowhere, a crusher charges through your doors and breaks into your lodge along with two warriors and a carrier behind it. How are you going to react?
  • You took the body of another hunter that was infected. while taking them, they are in soft crit and unable to do anything due to them having thewi inside of them. How will you respond.

Again, you do not need to answer these but I hope you do.

Good luck on your application. You were a good YB for me during that 50m round. I would love it for you to join me on more hunts.

Admittedly not looking so hot so far, but hopefully that will change! Appreciate your vote of confidence in the time we’ve interacted though and hoping to be in Loxzil soon enough! Now onto the questions…

  • This is admittedly a very very unfortunate circumstance that will rely on several factors. I believe my priority should be my Youngbloods in basically all cases except for the body of the fallen hunter itself being taken shipside. In this instance I will see if there are other hunters currently around and acting on the situation, and if the body itself has already been retrieved from the humans since only retrieving the body is mandatory. If the body is in our custody, then I will continue to mentor my youngbloods, as retrieving pieces of gear shipside is optional and I believe does not take priority over mentoring other players whose time is far more valuable than items in one ephemeral round of the game. Other hunters can go to retrieve or destroy the loose gear pieces if they wish, but my focus will remain on my Youngbloods. I can even use the situation as a good chance for some roleplay with the pups, to point out the danger that humans possess to even the mightiest of hunters and not to ever underestimate them despite how feeble they appear to be.
  • This intrusion on my lodge alone is an affront, but this could not be a clearer combination of castes meant to disable and infect me to create an Abomination. A lodge can ultimately be rebuilt, but an Abomination must be avoided at any cost. With so many castes with crowd control present, I believe my first option should be escape, their temporarily dishonorable status allowing me to cloak and stun them with the plasma caster to exit my desecrated lodge. It could be that escape becomes unfeasible however, so I will use any number of tactics and weapons currently at my disposal to fight back; hitting the xenos while stunned, attacking while cloaked, etc. However, with four xenomorphs involved this is also a significant amount of strength for the hive, especially the Crusher. It would give the marines a massive advantage if I killed all of them needlessly, and I believe I should only fight the xenos until they willingly retreat themselves, allow me to, or are knocked into critcal, whereupon I would try to return as many of them to the weeds as I can before they die. Ultimately, I will kill any and even all of them if I’ve tried every alternative to no avail using lethal plasma caster shots or any other weapon on me to ensure they cannot have capture me. If all else fails and I’m about to crit or believe I am about to be pinned and infected, then this is the point where the only option left is a self-destruct to deny them the Abomination utterly.
  • The honor code makes it clear that any infected hunter must die and their body be destroyed. If they are in soft crit, this would be an opportunity for very brief RP, informing them they have been infected, allowing them to respond and ask to be killed in their half-lucid state (or feebly and futilely beg for their life if that’s their character, but they’re going to have to die anyway). But time is of the essence and ultimately, they will have to die, so I will do the only thing I can for them in this instance; carry them someplace out of the way of the hive or any fighting if I believe I have enough time to do so and set their bracer to self-destruct. I will watch from a distance to ensure that the blast takes both hunter and Abomination in one go, and once the deed is done I will give a prayer for my fallen kin before returning to the hunt.

I hope these answers are satisfactory! Lord knows they’re plenty long. They definitely challenged me to think about what I believe the role entails and how I should act with it, and hopefully they show that I have a good understanding of what the Predator is in the context of the game and how one should be acting with it.
