Disallow capturing SSD marines

You don’t understand, people need to pad their revive numbers to get on the scoreboard. A DNR revive is just as good as a regular revive.

Please, we need to either remove or change those fun facts (not the taken damage though, thats neat).

People revive DNR because

  1. They can come back
  2. DNR marines can be cryod and the slot will be refunded (unless pfc)
  3. They want into fun facts as a medic

Anyone who is DNR should literally not be able to be revived. Its literally called ‘Do Not Revive’.

Isn’t dnr only come back if they ahelp?

DNR marines have a 1% chance of returning, since the reason to DNR is always “I don’t want to play any more” so either hit the button themselves or they alt f4.

The only reason a DNR marine comes back is if they somehow crashed and rejoined when they were dead.

Well, I remember my frustration as a medic when one of VCs went DNR and so marines couldn’t operate the tank for the rest of the op. You either would have to make a lot more harsher enforcement of “use your slot” rule, or let marines to refund people who gave up after dying. This is why you can revive DNR. Again, imagine SADAR going DNR after you risked everything to recover him? Now you at least can refund him.

You can crash or lose connection or you can change your mind. I don’t know how often this happens, but it happens.

I don’t think so, at least this is definitely not the case if DCed.

I would like some confirmation on this, but DNR marines, once revived, cannot go back to their bodies. Dosn’t matter if they pressed the button or if they DC’d.

You cryo them so you can get the slot back, otherwise it would be incredibly easy for me to pay people on fivr to waste Marine numbers on SSDs to give xenos more larva.

What forces then to be marked such? Perhapsit shouldnt permit the revive? Like hardcore mode.

Well, like said before, you can still revive them. And if they are a limited slot like corpsman, engie or an officer, you will get that slot back if you cryo them.

It’s just usually the case that they DNR on the front and nobody cares to either revive them or bring them back.

I feel like there’s some confusion regarding DNR and DCing.

If a marine is DC’d from the game, they just get the regular revive HUD (green/yellow/flashing-red heartbeat), with a red border. This tells you that “This marine has disconnected from the game”, which could be anything from lag, ragequit, power shutoff, wifi issues, etc. As such, you should still revive this guy.

If a marine is DNR (Red flatline), then it means that person has gone to their GHOST tab, clicked on ‘GO DNR’, and then pressed ‘CONFIRM’ when the game asks them if they’re sure they want to go DNR.
That person has made a conscious decision to remove themselves permanently from the game, and will NOT be coming back.
You should not revive a DNR person if they are not a vital, slot-limited role such as an SL, Spec, SG, etc.
if they are a vital slot limited role, they should be cyro’d ASAP to free up their slot for other players.

Due to the slot-limited factor, I am strongly against making DNR marines literally incapable of being revived-
I don’t want people rolling spec, dying in the most stupid way possible and then DNRing immediately when they can be revived easily, completely removing all hopes of getting a new, less bald spec.

I think we could have a special icon for DNR’d marines that were revived, which would make cyroing them easier (since half the time people assume they are AFK, as DNR’d revives do not sleep like SSD people, they remain standing up.)

Probably just need an icon for SSD marines.

As someone who dies\get capped due to SSD from time to time, for this to work the reaction time needs to be just a couple of seconds. And since we know the exact extent people are willing to go to cheat, it seems pretty easy for someone to AHK turning off their networking and then just instapress that the moment they get warrior grabbed. It’s not even a novel kind of cheating, this is quite common in Dark Souls invasion PVP.

What if putting an SSD person in a Medevac stretcher makes it automatically evac them to any ship with medevac? Getting an SSD person out of a very deep front is by far the most frustrating part.

Best way is just shoot them dead again

Make it so only PFC can’t be defibbed after DNR. It does not open a slot anywhy. If people press it, they do it for a reason. It is not a medic right to bypass a DNR person wish

Specs when they press DNR they get a automated message that they cant.
They have to ahelp just like command roles have to.

DNR button are there for a reason, not for cosmetics hud alert.

That or simply remove DNR button since it literally do nothing

Make is so specs can’t go DNR then because I have seen demo specs die once and immediately go DNR
