Hi Folks. Instead of reading - which is for nerds - marine law, i thought i’d ask you guys. What are some fun ways to land yourself in trouble with the MP’s, possibly brig, without disrupting the round. I’m talking, ways that give the MP’s something fun to do, being a cheeky rascal, if you will…
The only ‘prank’ I’ve been rolling with is getting to brief early and breaking into the command pod to redecorate - usually dismantling chairs and building railings or cades - one time a couple marines got on board with defending the brass and set up a turret and we’re asking for ID’s to get into the club. Good times
MP’s spend a lot of time outside of the brig, so every now and then I’ll go up there and grab one of the sec vendors and bring it down to the alamo and hack it so people can get those cool red glasses
It helps to drag it through maintenance rather than the hallways but honestly most people don’t give you a second look anyway. MP’s usually assume you’re dragging something else and not one of their secvendors
there’s also one right next to briefing that’s even easier to get to but it doesn’t have the same impact as stealing it right out of the brig.
Messing with MPs is always a good time. But in the terms of little things, stealing without leaving a trace is kind of funny. Like anyone can break into the COs office, but to go through the wall, take Jones, and rebuild the wall is a good time.
Move beyond ‘Disrespect the Law’ to ‘Disrespect the Lore’.
Ask funny questions, like, why does a Marine Troop Transport have a fully furnished and equipped MP department onboard. Or why are you taking me to the airlock?
Same reason its got a full on research laboratory and a personal escape pod for the corporate laison + a corporate laison; weyland yutani and high command planned for the USS Almayer to be involved with xenos and explicitly retrofitted the Almayer for it.
Holy Shit you may be on to something. This is not a joke. I legitimately never considered that possibility. This opens up a great new RP opportunity. Thank you very much.
This might actually be the most enormous I’ve ever seen. The Nostromo was a planned encounter with the Xenos. Aliens had a planted Liason with corporate interests vested and a crew unwittingly and unwillingly expendable.
The “Distress Signal” was never luck. They had to have forewarning and engineer a way to get their hands on Xenomorphs using the USCM as a tool but that would never pass the drawing board if brought up in a meeting or as an idea directly from Wey-Yu.
Instead, it could be a ship engineered FOR the Xenos BY WY-bought USCM personnel and the Liason’s job is to ensure the corporate interest in the Perfect Organism is upheld…
souto is a kind of non alcoholic drink, and the other souta has some alcohol in it (the joke doesn’t translate through text, I was pronouncing souta is “sorta” in my head nyeaaaaah!)
