i have almost equals hours on both xeno and marine and i say normal round start fires are cool but OT and research fires needs to be removed
depends. I think research fires are broken, but so is research in general. Regular fire is fine as is, it’s not too strong for sure. Green fire though is stupid, because it: 1) lasts very long, 2) slows xenos (which makes it effective against Queen and Ravs), 3) strips armor (same), 4) takes a lot of pats to extinguish for some reason, 5) while easy to remove as a marine with extinguisher.
I have more xeno hours than marine hours if that matters.

its not strong, one acid pillar nerfs it to the ground, the only castes that should fear fire is T1’s and some T2’s such as lurker and warrior, but like - its really not a problem.

I think normal fire is fine, Pyro Specialist as a whole is fine because they have a bad habit of pushing their own fire and getting capped.
I’m not sure I’d call OT Fire “too strong”, it kills more Marines than it does Xenos but the ability of OT fire to spread through doors and holes and clear shit loads of resin + deny huge areas is definitely strong. I’d honestly (in my perfect world) remove it purely so I stop getting griefed by it as Marine, it’s never killed me as a Xeno.
Research Fire’s main issue is 1000% that it deploys far too early, especially when it comes out near first drop.
My actual grievance with fire as Xeno comes from the fact that the main damage from being on fire is stepping on tiles lit on fire. You’re near a barricade, a flamer lights you on fire and then you backpedal across fire. Walking across 4-5 fire tiles genuinely deals huge chunks of health and the DOT itself is completely worthless in the grand scheme of things. It feels like OT flames and all flames have weirdly high damage for stepping on fire tiles, doesn’t feel nice to play against as I feel like the main source of damage should be the DOT.
It literally gives you a lump hours on xenos and marines when you check your hours…

fire is fine as it is since its a double edged sword for marines. I dont have a lot of opinion about research flames since they’re usually rare and need the OTs(?), Research and Reqs cooperation to deploy. Not to mention not a lot of marines use flame and the people who are effective at using them usually know what they’re doing (dual weapons) (and dont need the research flame at all)
Fire is fine. Research flame needs to be taken out back and buried along with everything else that comes out the research department.
