Do you think fire needs a nerf?

Fires an area control weapon. Its best used when cutting enemy options to apply pressure. Its also a great burst dmg weapon. Its better to direct hit with flamer since it adds extra dmg to ur already high burst dmg.

It doesnt need a buff or nerf or w/e. Just work with teammates. Or pat the flames or something. One flamer cant do that much without running out of fuel except b gel so just divert ur pressure to ur next best position or try to force them to reflame a bunch by patting or something.

Against pyros or research flame its pointless to fight alone so dont. Wait for an opportunity. frontline castes have a good matchup against flamer. A lot of the time u can just walk over the fire no issue.

Fire also cuts your allies pressure. Thats important. It bottlenecks areas when you fire down the middle making it difficult to approach, and creates generally hostile terrain. A xeno who runs away from fire or through fire to escape will almost always live unless ur timing is right.

But ya if a flamer is just pressuring u thru a tight space they are usually tying their own death by walking into xeno advantaged areas or pushing the front too far without appropriate pressure to control the situation

Its just a situationally strong weapon nothing to complain about. It heaaavily depends on terrain tho for going from easy af to fight to really annoying.

i will say tho that the “running out of fuel” argument is wrong. But the rest is right, and it’s not unreasonably powerful in gameplay partially because very few people main it and thus its just missing a lot of technique and technical skill to maximize its potential.

It’s a strong and rewarding weapon with a high skill ceiling. But noone uses it so it’s very rare to see anyone do very well with it especially on the Frontline.
