So that looks pretty bad out of context.
In my defense, I was indirectly quoting Alien screenwriter Dan O’Bannon, who spoke in “The ‘Alien’ Saga” documentary (great watch by the way!) about the themes of horror in the original film.:
“One thing that people are all disturbed about is sex… I said ‘That’s how I’m going to attack the audience; I’m going to attack them sexually. And I’m not going to go after the women in the audience, I’m going to attack the men. I am going to put in every image I can think of to make the men in the audience cross their legs. Homosexual oral rape, birth. The thing lays its eggs down your throat, the whole number.’”
Perhaps my greatest sin was changing what he said from “homosexual oral rape” to “sadiosexual”, during pride month no less!
Ok, no. That was bad attempt at a joke.
In all seriousness, I could sit here and stubbornly argue all day about the themes of the films and it would make no difference. That quote being a paraphrase isn’t a defense; it’s an excuse. What I said did not belong on the server, and for that I apologize. Given some time to reflect, I can mentally remember a few times my conversations have skirted that line before. I know I can do better, and do better is what I am going to. You can consider it a promise.
I hope you consider giving me a second chance, and I’m well aware that there’s no third chances, and a second perma is just that: permanent. All the more reason to get it right this time.

(On an off topic side note, my absence from the server has given me time to explore the forums, and man. It makes me yearn for that age again. There’s still some hold outs here and there like SpaceBattles, but the era of the forum has come to a close. I would have never popped in and made myself at home here were it not for the ban, and even if I make it back in, I don’t feel like leaving anytime soon. It’s a comfortably nostalgic experience that reminds me of early arguments and roleplaying I did on things like proboards. That last bit makes me glad forums have gone the way of the dodo though; I don’t need any reminders of the kinda shit I would write when I was 13, “cringe culture is dead” be damned.)
