Drone Strain - Healer minor tweek

Akin to Gardener - remove acid melt -
New - replace with 3 tile “leap” NOT POUNCE - no stun just mobility

Why it’s good: being able to leap towards an ally or away from danger would help them greatly while removing acid melt keeps them in line with the other strain

Possible downsides: Healers unkillable unless you have hard stuns/perfect conditions, healers using this to jump into combat and tackle

I like where you’re going with this, I think the acid on healers is a bit much when you have sents, spitters, and so many other melters who honestly don’t have anything better to do. Make the sents earn their spitter evo by melting flares n guns

One suggestion is to make the leap work a bit like Mercy’s dash from overwatch. more specifically, healers can dash to allied xenos but not just anywhere they want, otherwise i worry with the drones extremely strong tackle and health pool itll just become an ambush runner

A good healer drone only enters the minimal amount of combat. The life you lose from combat means you have less life to give to others. Your jobs are to weed taking a minimal amount of health, go around aciding safe targets, and heal others. Only being able to weed, and otherwise sitting in back healing others sucks.

Forcing folks to sprite click another bug to jump to them would suck. Losing the utility of acid as a Drone strain would suck- especially given it’s only Weak Acid, so most of the time you’re just doing cleanup (that I enjoy!).

I like the idea of making Healer more active than just middle clicking friendlies in the red until they go green, but I don’t think sacrificing acid is a crazy good idea.

All of the comparisons are always “on paper”. Need tests. Nobody wants to test carrier inferior low plasma regen

I think a special trigger might be good for this. Allowing them to leap to crit xenos and heal them with an instant burst of health, and apply the HoT. Doing this will slow the drone down for 2 seconds in exchange for being able to instantly heal a xeno in crit. I also think it should ignore friendly collision, and you should not be able to drag either during this period of weakness.

This would add punishments for leaping, while also reducing the skill/tedium of leaping switching skills, and accurately clicking on an injured xeno that may be covered/blocked by other xenos also trying to help. You could make it target a tile, or even the nearest crit xeno to your mouse. 50/50 in my head on if the xeno dies doing this, they get revived if at full charge like with sacrifice. Or another potential idea is the drone explodes if at/above 50% charge, splashing healing resin on all nearby xenos, and splashing all marines as well. This only activates if the drone leapt.

I don’t see any reason to remove the acid ability from the healer, and the reasoning of ‘bringing it in line’ is poor, when you only have two strains, and if you count the original drone, two have acid, one doesn’t, by that logic gardener should get acid melt (and they should, if anything healer should lose it and gardener get it, but I don’t know anyone that would choose gardener over healer for that reason.)

Personally I think healer is fine and doesn’t need to be changed, though it would be cool if they could also ‘heal’ walls/doors with their resin. (it does not add to the charge.)
