It wasn’t a regular hive and the negotiations of the Xenomorphs was done mostly between Xenomorphs to keep the marines providing transportation outside of this whole debacle.
I’m unsure what the whole lore was behind it but the reason we had a couple more members of the hive was because three out of four were made into xenomorphs after they joined in as lesser drones, so there was no captures done by the red hive or hostilities in order to boost their numbers.
And the fourth was a Sentinel that left the old hive to join the red one willingly pretty early on. I will also mention that I think the FOB was lost by the time Normandy departed to deliver the Alpha Hive.
First of all, this was an event, so ignoring certain parts of the rules like this makes sense. The rule NOT to be friendly was made by administration to prevent rounds like we had in old CM, where xenos would RP being “pets” to Marines, like a runner being friendly.
In this instance, it was event spawned xenos staying Neutral for their own gains (this is my assumption, they can speak up for themselves what the plan was), and I was staying neutral to both them and whoever they guarded out of a pragmatic sense because I did not want to fight red hive when I had a FOB to destroy and a King to hatch. At any time I was ready to break my truce with the Red Hive and anyone they protected if it went against the flow of the round (aka if they tried to destroy my King, tried to stop us from destroying FOB and/or Hijack, etc) but they never did this so I kept our truce with them.
You have to interpret the rules differently in events like this, which has been a thing since the Feweh era of events, where they are not completely strictly followed to the letter; otherwise nothing would get done and no one would do events. If you nitpick only on these small instances, then no admin will want to do events.
I am not saying you do not have a case with this complaint, I am merely saying that I have seen complete and utter admin abuse by CM admins during my time playing this server for nearly a decade, and this really is not admin abuse or cause for concern. Real admin abuse is an admin spawning a deathsquad with explosive bullets and sending him to wipe out the entire marine team of 80 + marines before xenos have even started sieging FOB (yes this happened before), not a Red Hive negotiating and RPing with both xenos and marines most of the round.
It is not the fault of SmellyHippie that CIC decided to roleplay instead of ignoring the event. It is also not a requirement that events be announced to players before/as they happen.
