So, I’ve had some bad experiences with ERTs lately. As others have said, they spawn too late to really have much time to roleplay, they get given a huge block of text that I’m sure most players don’t read, they dont have time to get geared as they spawn on a shuttle inbound, no SL tracker or reason to really care what the squad leader has to say. These are all bad and I’d like to fix it or at least try to.
So, ert leader would be a whitelist in the same vein as fax responder, a very light “do you know how to play the game and RP decently” check to make sure that a ert leader knows what they’re meant to be doing and to more easily track people who abuse the role. When a whitelisted player rolls for an ERT, they will be more likely to become whatever the leader is for that ERT, and will be prioritised over non whitelisted players where possible for leader roles.
When a whitelisted leader is selected, they will be able to actually lock the doors of the shuttle and stop it from departing to give a very short briefing for the ert, and are expected to do so. Organize, let everyone know who you are and what you’re doing before heading out. Regardless of whitelist, the erts should all get a SL tracker to follow their leader. Whitelisted ERT leaders will have some leeway to play around with the objectives (demanding double pay to save the CO’s ass as freelancer, incapacitating the CL if they prove non compliant as PMC, etc.)
Again I must state, that this is a very light whitelist requirement, the kind of thing a base level knowledge of the game, roleplay standards, and not being a complete unknown can get approval for.
