ERT shuttles need to be nerfed during Hijack

Yeah, title, ERT shuttle isnt, well, FUN.

”Here, a large shuttle that is garunteed to let anyone onboard escape, and it lands within a couple minute of hijack, if not before”. This ISNT fun.

For marines, it removes any tension, it completely takes the piss out of surviveing hijack. For xenos, it feels like an uncounterable “I live” button, and once again, takes the fun out of fighting in hijack.

Im not sure exactly what could be done, but its just a really unfun mechanic for both sides, not in a frustrateing way, but in a way that it makes the round boring.

Just tie them to the same refueling process the lifeboats have

Or just wipe out the ship, shuttle or the ERT itself before the crew has a chance to locate and get away.

Hijack is already a rather complicated thing to survive, especially with the ‘barricades cannot be anchored on hijack’ change, making it so holding pumps to actually fuel said pods or lifeboats much more difficult, and its not like you can return to get more crew members anyways, once you take off, you don’t come back, so I’d say that the only thing that is guaranteed to save you should stay in, since both lifeboats and pods got a chance to crash unless you fully finish fueling

Make them smaller and have a poplimit on them. Now its just a larger CL pod that arrives with maybe rienforcements.

I agree it feels rather unfun in the current state it is in.

Perhaps it can be nerfed and made a little bit more fun by adjusting and adding some things to it. For safe extraction it would need 5 minutes of refuel time for 100% guaranteed departure (to either of other pods or home base), however this 5 minutes of refuel could be overriden for immediate departure that would have 50% chance of crashing.

If a player chose home base and rolls bad RNG during refuel? Crash to planet

If a player chose other landing pad and rolls bad RNG? Crash to any part of lower ship like Alamo/Normandy does during hijack.

I believe this would make it quite unpredictable, nerfed and make for some silly and fun moments.

We get ERT shuttles like once per day if marines are lucky. And by saying lucky I really mean lucky. Most of the time ERTs arent even a thing for marines to even think about. Btw, is that becouse of bravo SL on that round?

This is another one of those, it’s not even a problem complaints, if people want to cram onto the ERT then…let them? It doesn’t seem like a real problem.

They get to tap out of the round and roleplay (the true enemy of CM apparently as everyone keepy trying to kill it) on the ERT station and the people who want to fight will stay behind and fight the xenos to a bloody cinematic end. Sounds like a win win for everyone involved.

I think it’s fine… Shuttles should be Queen lockable and the shuttle doors shouldn’t be weldable/shockable/boltable(or at least xenos or just the queen should be able to pry them open). ERTs are not guaranteed to be friendly, and saving people makes a lot of sense for a friendly ERT members. Also hijack sucks, people evacing make it shorter.

Just make the launch cooldown longer, maybe up to 5 minutes (so it’s not a guaranteed insta evac, some tension of what if xenos get to us first) before returning to the base (less for launching to another pad, but after going to another pad cooldown resets to full). Make doors unlockable, let Queen lock the shuttle console. I think this would be just perfect. Also make the travel time longer so ERT wouldn’t be able to reach Almayer before xenos (which is just kinda stupid).

Let me tell you all as XO i have done many a ERT evac. It is not easy as you all think.

I one time as XO had to hold an ERT guy at gun point saying do not wait for them as the king was activly bashing down the few defences we had.

It is jsut as fun as lifeboat and pod if you try and RP about it. Cause those ERT they always wait and often time too long.

Not to mention to RP of showing up on a merc ERT ship and going “this is my ship now and we will be evacing” or fighting the CLF to steal their ship.

If we nerf it that jsut makes all of this harder and opens up the gate to dying more often. If run all the way to the ERT ship then RP the people let 50 people take a ride.Only for to wait 5 minute for the queen scree us once cause everyone to die.

Not to mention all the missed ERT station RP. Like how said merc ERT didn’t get paided so once threatend to kill me so I orderd the men to kill them.

or the other time when it was just a few of us left. So instead of returning we all formed a space priate gang.
