Such great character building, from both of these scenes you already know hudson is a wise cracker, Ferro is cold, vasquez and drake are friends, and that hicks exists.

Using guns other than flamethrowers in Chance’s Claims reactors should cause it to explode. I desperately want to see someone try and collect everyone’s magazines successfully.

Nah there’s actually an in universe explanation (The marines in the films have HEAP, we don’t, although that also means we shouldn’t be able to use any explosives)

I think the sentry scene is one of the most impactful to me and I think it’s a damn shame it’s impossible to satisfactorily recreate it in CM.

The closest you could get is a lesser tide coming in on a cadeline but it’s not the same- the tension, the barricaded doors, the cuts between silence and hot lead spewing down range- it’s a beaaauuutiful contrast and I adore it

Yeah, if you want a movielike experience PvE is the way to go. Incredible atmosphere, feels quite a lot like Aliens.

That kind of thing is impossible in CM due to the simple fact that there are too many players and a strict requirement for ‘balanced’ gameplay, which is a non-issue in PvE.

Everything from the wake-up in cryosleep to vazquez and burke blowing up is peak fiction. Everything else is also peak fiction, but thats the peak-est of peak fiction.

It goes against my eternal commitment to James-Cameron-ist thought, but my dream is a sequel to aliens where the marines win.

For now I’ll have to content myself with the 5th greatest film ever made, Battle Los Angeles.
