I am just tossing out the idea to possibly fix the contents of the fire cabinets on the ship, currently they all have oxygen canisters which the gas mask does not let you use. Would it be difficult to replace it with the air tanks like in the EVA area next to the cannon?

atmos is disabled in-code but almayer would still have gas masks and tanks in case of a micro-breach leading to depressurization

the gas masks help against things like boiler gas, acid explosions and stuff of that nature but ONLY if you are actively using an air tank hand have internals toggled. You cannot toggle internals if holding an oxygen tank (which is what is in every oxygen deprivation and fire locker)
Gas masks do nothing in xeno combat. But it does help with tear gas and other gases humans mix/use.
