I am pretty good at command.

How familiar are you with command positions?

I am highly proficient in commanding marines. I have numerous successful operations to my name and a shitload of medals saying how cool I am at command. Sometimes I look back and it’s unreal how good I am. I am so good holy shit.
I am a master of OBing, PBing, SLing and, hopefully, soon, BEing as well.

Character Information:

Why did your character decide to become the CO of a ship?

John R. Public was so incredibly good at his job of leading his squad to complete victory over a suspected CLF terrorist cell during the Operation “Peacefully Convincing Violent Anti-Government Protesters To Disperse”, that the UA Joint Chiefs of Staff have unanimously decided to grand him the rank of Captain of the USS Decimation, shortly before Operation Clumsy Yankee.

During the afforementioned operation, Captain Public had unfortunately lost his First Company and nearly two thirds of his Second Company, almost three hundred men to a CLF nuclear fission explosive, which was detonated as a last-ditch attempt to prevent total American victory over the remnants of the CLF cell.

The General Public has simply watched as Public’s marines were decimated by a nuclear explosion, which radicalised the Captain and turned his patriotic duty to the America and the American Way of Life into deep-rooted hatred towards any potential terrorist, imaginary or real.

The Captain has realised that the only way to deal with the terrorist menace for good is to ascend the UA military hierarchy. All he needs now is bide his time, for the opportunity to ascend the ladder once again will present itself.

How did your character attain the position of CO?

After the disaster of the operation Typhoon Tackle, the UA government has granted Captain Public the rank of Major and a blank cheque to hunt down any and all suspected CLF operatives in the Neroid Sector, granting him command over the USS Almayer as his mobile headquarters.

Provide a short story of your CO.

Under the ashen clouds of the Planet Magrida, in a bombed-out and scorched by flames hospital building, desperately clinged for survival the remnants of the Second Company of the USS Decimation under the command of Captain John Public.

Mere hours ago, he would be able to say with confidence that the operation would be a definite success. Another cell destroyed, identities of dozens of CLF operatives across the sector about to be uncovered pending interrogation of the cell leader. What is there to not be proud of? With a glass of whiskey in his hand, the Captain stood proud, and grinned even proudly, looking over the city skyline. Good things are certainly coming to America.

Suddenly, the sunset became really bright for some reason. Skin started to tingle. As the Captain was wearing his signature sunglasses during this terrible moment, the realisation of what just happened came to him quickly. The CLF cell was merely a bait, a way to dispose of his men, and hopefully, dispose of the Captain as well. In fact, the plan was almost perfect - the Captain was planning to depart to interrogate the cell leader directly, and was packing to depart within the hour.

The only thing that saved him and the Second Company was the initiative of one of his lieutenants, who was clearing out an outhouse in one of the suburban sectors. By sheer luck, the holder of the detonator was stopped from departing by the collapse of his escape tunnel. With the only alternative being capture and the complete derailment of the plan, the terrorist decided on activating the device early. In a blink of an eye, three hundred marines of the USCM were gone as if they had never existed.

The Headquarters of the Second Company were relatively far away from the blast, but it still dealt a lot of damage to the building, the shards from the shattering windows wounding many and collapse of the entirety of the Eastern Wing from the blast causing significant casualties to the marines temporarily quartered there.

While waiting for rescue and relief for his marines, the Captain had time to dwell on his mistakes and think about what just happened. Was it luck that made him survive the blast, was it luck that his wing of the building survived? Could the USCM be stumbling from operation to operation, sustaining the campaign off the luck alone? For Captain Public, however, the answer to this question was never in doubt.

There is no such thing as luck. There is only destiny. He is Columbia’s Sword against Terrorism and the Unknown, and destiny demands he fights another day. For America’s sake, the Captain must not fail again.

Command Actions:

When do you believe it’s appropriate to pardon a prisoner?

Ultimately I do not believe in forgiveness and second chances for combat personnel, as a real marine would never make mistakes to begin with. Law is law. Except when I think that law shouldn’t apply (usually for me, while I play CO I pledge to have a real-life lawyer sit beside me to consult on all judicial matters), pardons seem irresponsible to me.

Don’t want to serve a sentence? Well, don’t commit crimes. Fucking dumbass.

Give some examples of when you would or would not use pardon.

N/A.

When do you believe it’s appropriate to use a Battlefield Execution?

The use of Battlefield Execution has to be reserved for the most extreme situations. Fortunately, fighting xenomorphs means that every situation is extreme so I may BE disposable marines at my leisure.

Ideally, I would use BE to execute marines who know too much about my plans to cause a war with UPP, as they would probably try to stop me. Maybe they could even cut a deal with a well-known UPP terrorist, who knows. I would also utilise gasoline for good measure. There would also be a specifically assigned bodyguard with a boombox playing sad violin music for extra dramatic value. A lagswitch might be applied for dramatic slow-motion effects.

Give some examples of when you would or would not use Battlefield Execution.

People I WOULD USE the BE on:

  • People bodyblocking me.
  • Combat Correspondents filming stuff that we specifically told them to not film. I do not respect media.
  • People ODing me on medicine.
  • SG Players.
  • Suspects of multikeying.
  • SOs that repeatedly ask to deploy.
  • Frontline Mortar users.
  • Provost roll players. I do not make mistakes with my interpretation of ML. Get the fuck out of here. Why would there be an admin-spawned role to enforce Machine Learning anyway? I am the only real player on CM. Get off my ass.
  • Surviving marines with the rank above PFC if we have lost the operation. Why would I expose myself to mutiny?
  • Fear RPers.

People I would NOT USE the BE on:

  • CL, because I support the company and I respect people with hustle.
  • Felons who say they are really sorry and have available funds from the range of 100k dollars American. (MUST have killed enough marines to get fun fact of the round at roundend).
  • John Kilgore.
