I don’t really like rounds decided based on rng, and stims are usually op enough to guarantee a free win from any scenario.
What’s your opinion of games won by research stims?

it’s not even rng
you can pretty consistently get a stim that can win the game (if marines are good) by like an hour, yeah it may not be the greatest handheld ‘you cannot lose’ stim but you can get them something good enough that it gives them an insane edge
i’ve even seen some stims at 00:45 when they DO actually get something good through rng
not to mention you can send down like runner blood stims or some shit like roundstart or even make it as survivor and just win just that most researcher players focus on the super mega omega duper stim instead of winning the round (i dont blame them)
Stims suck no matter how much you nerf them. Marines are getting rewarded for delaying the game long enough, even though they are supposed to be the side that is meant to attack xenos, not the other way around. Yet they get stronger stuff over time. Currently you don’t even need to leave FOB, you can play FOB siege for 2 hours and still get stims from xeno corpses. Another thing I really don’t like about stims is that they are literally infinite as soon as you make a recipe. The only bottleneck for producing stims is power that regens quite fast.
My favourite are the rounds where research makes stims that revive heal and antistun and marines still somehow manage to lose, like if you put strobia or stalkerino in that same situation they would gobble up the entire hive like it was candy
Revive stims actually are a detriment without insane anti stun properties as marines will see themselves unkillable and run into 5 xenos that cap em, even countering prime woyors going for kills not working against hive numbers for once in their hole of a caste
Not another research cope discussion… Can we mention how xenos can put up another king cocoon 5 minutes( or 15 ) after it’s destroyed with no penalty?? Aswell as how easy it is for xenos to hold comms.
You really wanna compare the killable nuke, to stimms? Which you are supposed to compare to the nuke that straight up ends the game in the same time the king hatches?
Yes because if marines nuke gets disabled then hijack can happen since the queen has to be there to disable it, if xenos king dies they just have to wait until it goes of cooldown and bam, another king.
I might be wrong but I am almost sure that you cannot get a second king if the first dies. If a pylon or cocoon is lost then you can get a new one, just like restoring comms after decryption have been interrupted still pushes decryption forward. This is even stronger for marines, if I do not mistake you resume decryption from where it was interrupted, a new cocoon needs an entire 10 minutes regardless of when the old one was destroyed.
If marines get their nuke disabled, then it is massive skill issue. As it litterary has a 60 second timer.
If the xenos disable the marine’s nuke, I believe that should automatically gift the xenos a squad of mind-controlled Marsoc operatives and a free King, because it is the height of a skill issue if the Marines allow a Queen to march into the FOB and disable the nuke after it has been armed.
Stims are just terrible overall no matter how nerfed they are, I’d argue they should be consigned to the dustbin of history.
It sucks that xenos hate it when marines work together well, if OIs do t collect the intel and die, and if researchers are not competent enough, then there are no stims. Researchers spend their entire round making stims and they should be rewarded for it.
If researchers cannot make stims, they will simply become an extension to OTs to make best fire/explosive chem for OTs. And if you remove OTs (Steelpoint also wants them removed) then what do you have left?
scarcity doesnt equal balance
You only need researchers for stims. Well, and ideally someone dragging xeno corpses. There is nothing to be rewarded for.
I think its balanced, reaearchers don’t have much to do as is, so let them have this. Plus I haven’t seen many rounds where stims play a large role in a win/loss.
They will do what they did for most of CM’s history (after ss13 removal), nothing
Maybe I’ve just been unlucky but almost every round I’ve played recently has had god stims with either MST or NST paired with neogenetic and anticorrosive, and usually hyperdensificating and some other stuff like antiparasitic or hemogenic. Some of these were back to back rounds so it might just be the same research players that have somehow mastered this and can just pump out god stims every time.
Finally, a good answer, close the thread.
remove medical and research as they are a leftover from ss13
make marines solely rely on autodocs like they do in da LORE
