Great Synthetic Adjustment

So, currently we have 2* synthetic slots.
1 is our synthetic that can deploy if it wants, has every skill and is omni-useful
2 is either a survivor synth or a ship operations synth depending on if there was a survivor synth

The ship ops and normal synth are mechanically identical other than one being disallowed from deployment outside of nuke

I have a proposal.

Give us 3 synthetic slots, 1 synth, 1 survivor synth, 1 ship ops synth

But remove surgery skills from survivor and synth, only ship ops can do it in order to assist skeleton crewed medical. Leave only enough for medic work groundside.

This prevents powercreep of another synthetic, and allows for doctors to be able to play the job they readied up for if there’s a deploying synth not stealing every last patient.

(Plus deploying synths are 500% more valuable to the uscm using their engineering skills and good cades anyway, go make medical secure for a surgeon on LV or something :slight_smile: )

Can we have a bartender colony synth that serves drinks to the marines during the OP. That was one of my best interactions with a Synth. Carla the Pink Flamingo Bar Tender Synth.

You know. At first I treated this thread as a joke. but after a certain round.
I fully approve of reworking how surgery is handled with synth, and I will be pushing for changes.

Could be a interesting idea, it pushes the groundside Synth away from being a surgery-bot. Encourages them to also help in transporting casualties and medevac’ing.

Although, trying to justify why one Synthetic can do surgery, and another can’t, might be a hard task. You might have better luck simply changing how surgery works groundside???

Nah it’s a very serious thread @WestRover and I think it’ll be a great change for the better of the WL and RP.

@Steelpoint The reason really doesn’t matter from a lore perspective given this a gameplay first sort of thing, we can bullshit literally any reason. Just say that synthetics deploying are loaded with a more limited dataset to prevent potential harm in the field from infections.

The reality is that synthetics doing surgery groundside actively detracts from upwards of 4 doctor players and is unhealthy for synths because they then get EXPECTED to do nothing but surgery, and unhealthy for doctors who can’t do the job they readied for
