Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?
I think fax responder is going to be a great way for me to increase my roleplaying skills in preparation for other whitelists. On top of this I think being the man on the other side of the fax machine is awesome, and even though I am aware that I can only play HC responder (also the other like faction ones but those have been used effectively once ever) I am going to try and play some other roles like MP to broaden that out after I hopefully get this accepted. I guess my last thing would be I would finally have something to do after immediately being capped first drop, I know that’s a really basic answer but its true.
What do you consider the purpose of this role?
I think at its heart fax responder is to heighten the roleplay experience of the round. As a secondary you can definitely do stuff like handle appeals, but mostly you are there to give these people something else to play with, this is shown at its largest with the company responder and the CL, but I feel it can also apply to like command and even provost.
When would you consider it appropriate to use your phone?
The phone effectively defeats the purpose of being a “fax responder” but in a situation where I am directed to by like an admin I definitely would. On top of this if its like an execution of a marine is about to go through in less than a minute and I don’t want it to happen or I ordered it not to happen via fax and they never read the fax, then I would call to ensure the execution didn’t go through. But most likely I will never use the phone as a fax responder.
If playing WY Responder, what objectives do you consider within your power to give the CL?
You have to draw that line I would say when it crosses over into major crime territory, and even then if the thing I want to order is breaking more than like two minor crimes I likely should not go through with it. As an example telling the CL to produce mind breaker toxin to use on marines to see its effect is way overstepping, and something like attempt to retrieve or steal an item a survivor brought up isn’t overstepping.
If playing Press Responder, what objectives do you consider within your power to give the CC?
These should be an even shorter line than WY responder. Stuff like interview the CO or get pictures of a certain kind of xenomorph would be fine, but asking anything that severely interferes with marine operations or committing a crime is overstepping my power.
