Yautja Character Story:
A group of Marines suddenly rush up and start shooting you. How do you respond?
Context matters first! Where am I? What was I doing? Was there any RP? If I’m going engage a group of marines it’ll be ideal to do so in an area that minimizes risk to those uninvolved, in addition to being more advantageous for me.
I’ve always found the horror aspect of Predators to be interesting, so I’d move in and out of sight and play voicelines to lead them in a certain direction - psychological warfare type shit. Unless there is no RP, I’m not going to instantly go in for the kill.
Another Yautja hunted and killed a target you had marked. What do you do?
As Nakall would be more of a scholarly Yautja, and Viyrn as a whole less concerned with the thrill of the hunt than they are with collecting information on Ipos and his coming, he would react in a much more measured manner. If the death of this target interferes with Nakall’s gathering of information/intelligence or they were of particular strength/renown - which would honor Ipos through its death - insults may be exchanged or rise to the level of a duel if the conflict is irreconcilable.
Seen and interacted with Michael ‘Ponyboy’ Calhoun plenty of times and can say they have good roleplay. Harrysno has used their CO whitelist to great effect and is on the CO council, they understand the rules of the server well. I am sure they will be a fantastic Predator. +1
A marine has been running around the backline, with no xenos present and only you around. He seems not very keen on any interactions other than shooting you. You two fight, and he gets you to low health. You haven’t gotten a single hit on him. What would you do?
You draft up a paper on something that interests your hunter. A hunter asks to see it, and you oblige. When he reads it, he calls it trash, calls you dumb, tears the only copy into shreds, and calls you a heretic. What would you do?
The hunting grounds are empty, the xenos having hijacked the dropship. There are, however, many predators congregating at the LZ, looking for entertainment in the few remaining xenos and humans. One hunter brings a prime warrior he claims to have defeated with a knife, and asks who of the crowd would do the same. Two step forward, and they both die. What would you do?
A marine walks up to you with his gun raised, and stands a reasonable distance away from you. Prior to this, you had killed a marine without returning their body. The current one, alone and still aiming your way, asks “HEY, FUCKER! RETURN OUR DEAD GUY!”. What would you do?
I’m torn on this one. The sheer outskilling they’ve done to my ass could potentially warrant offering them a trophy of some kind or a full honor duel of some sort, but you’ve stated they’ve displayed no interest in interacting beyond simple killing. I am not particularly keen on rewarding anybody with neat gifts if they’re not giving me some sort of worthwhile interaction in return, and running away to heal and fight another day is obviously not in the picture. In all likelihood I’d just take the honorable way out and SD, got outskilled.
Viyrn are, for all intents and purposes, actual full-blown heretics by virtue of their worship of Ipos. What this effectively translates to is a much more reserved reaction to the insults of this other hunter, and Nakall would initially retaliate with insults of his own as he has greater concerns than the squabbling of what he would perceive as his “lessers.” That is up until the accusation of heresy, which he would not take lightly. By virtue of these insults being wholly unwarranted, he’d likely demand that they retract their statement besmirching the name of Ipos - if they do not it would escalate to a duel.
Considering their generally “heretical” status Nakall would likely face insults to his worship frequently, and short of situations like these where the insults are wholly unwarranted/out of the blue he would not normally escalate to the level of a duel.
While I’d certainly find it fun and entertaining to try and fight a Prime Warrior with nothing but a knife, neither Nakall nor the rest of Viyrn take incredible joy in the thrill of the hunt and are generally less boisterous on average. The hunt is seen as a means to an end, and risking death like the two hunters before him serves no purpose in bringing about Ipos’s ascension into the world. Nakall would not rise to this challenge, in all likelihood.
This marine has insulted me and basically meta’d the honor code by demanding the return of a dead body, making him temporarily dishonorable. Even so they’re still attempting to RP and interact with me in some capacity, so as much fun as it would be to HPC him and be done with it I’d probably just engage him and scalp the fucker after killing him.

Definitely an HRP CO, who I’ve had the personal honor of being BE’d by. Not only will RP be easy, but as a CO Councilor, he can be trusted not to abuse his position of power.
good. Remember that a lot of times the RP just boils down to you getting shot and them getting mauled, so don’t be surprised if exchanges are short or nonexistent

As for your story, it’s good, it shows your pred’s dialogue and some of his interests. However, one thing isn’t clear.
It probably doesn’t change the outcome of it too heavily, but it does change the motivation. I’d still engage them for thinking they can make demands of me and insulting me, not for perceived meta.
And yes his exchange with Halstead would be via translator, with the portion of clicking being him saying something to himself. :^)

It’s not just the high registry that’s wrong but also the usage of sainja (I assume?) terms with prey that wouldn’t understand it: it’s pointless. I suppose the part where he talks to himself is fine, but the first and second line are not how you should be speaking to marines. I ask you draw some inspiration from these comic panels to understand how you should try and speak to prey (also bear in mind all the things the predators in these panels said were previously uttered by humans in the comic):

Cal’s and outstanding marine, great CO, and good person. If he plays a pred half as well as he does as a CO, both the marines and xeno are in trouble. I trust the man whole heartedly to live up to the standards of the pred WL.
