Huk’Tim

Luar’Ke

Yautja Character Story:

A group of Marines suddenly rush up and start shooting you. How do you respond?

I would treat them as dishonorable targets until the engagement is over in accordance to the honor code.

Another Yautja hunted and killed a target you had marked. What do you do?

Hunting my prey is really disrespectful, I would personally find the Yautja and challenge him to an honor duel.

I’ve played with IO Hermann a few times in game, and they seemed pretty solid RP-wise. A +1 from me on that front.

I’ve seen them in the forums a lot and they seem to be a friendly person who engages with people well, and I’ve also seen them in game a couple times and they play a believable character. +1

Encountered Hermann “Hermit” Timos multiple times while they have been a Senior Enlisted Advisor while I’ve been playing command, they had good roleplay every single time I’ve interacted with them. Hermotimos is also a server staff member who clearly understands both IC and OOC rules/guidelines. +1

Very fun guy to RP with. I enjoy talking to him, even tho our talks don’t last long , I still like his RP.
I know this ain’t my place but I’m just gonna ask some questions.

(1) A fellow predator is calling you weak and your clan weak, What do you do?

(2)A marine comes up to you asking for a duel, but you never seen this guy before and his new, what do you do?

(3) When do you feel like when you want to in thrall someone? Under what circumstances do you believe is correct?

First of all, thanks to those who took the time to reply to this application!

Now, onto the questions! I will try to be as detailed as possible.

(1) A fellow predator is calling you weak and your clan weak, What do you do?

Pretty straightforward! If the hunter had the audacity to disrespect me or my clan, and assuming nothing extraordinary happened in the round, then the most logical solution would be to challenge said hunter to an honor duel in accordance with the honor code.

Quoting the honor code for a better understanding on my answer:

  • For a Yautja on Yautja honor duel to occur, there must have been a major incident that occurred between the two (i.e. The stealing of a trophy, grave insults and so on.)

(2)A marine comes up to you asking for a duel, but you never seen this guy before and his new, what do you do?

Alright, assuming a brand-new player, whom I have not seen before, comes up to me and asks for a duel in a way that doesn’t come across as extremely LRP and it’s clear that their intentions are not to meta-use the honor code. then I would gladly give them a fair and entertaining fight. I believe that as a WL holder, you are there to improve the experience of other players rather than to interrupt it or ruin it. With that in mind, having a new player have his first experience against a predator to be a good one is probably the best course of action here.

Quoting the honor code for a better understanding on my answer:

  • Good Spirit of the Whitelist actions:

Sparing/throwing back a revivable prey who fought well.
Gifting someone a spear or gear piece after they kill a Yautja even if it was outside of a duel.
Make someone’s day, thrall a new player, make a fighting pit, create an interesting role playing situation

(3) When do you feel like when you want to in thrall someone? Under what circumstances do you believe is correct?

I would thrall people who are clearly above average in terms of combat skill and people I can be completely sure will enjoy their time as a thrall, while also adding to the experience of other people they may run into later on the round. Again, in my opinion, the WL should be about making stuff fun for others. As an extra note, I feel like thralling a player who is semi-new to the server could also serve as a great experience if done properly.

Refer to the thralls section of the honor code to see why I answered the way I did!

I’ve seen you around on some rounds as IO and you RP well when I’ve interacted you with. But I’d like to ask some questions.

  • You have been playing since round start and haven’t found worthy prey, whats your move?

  • How do you choose who you’re going to hunt in a round?

  • When would you HPC someone?

  • You have been playing since round start and haven’t found worthy prey, whats your move?

Well, despite hunting being the main “objective” of a predator in-game, there’s always other stuff they can do in case there’s no prey around. Such as setting up a lodge, interacting with other predators, or simply spooking marines without having to hunt them; there are always ways to find your own fun without necessarily having to kill players.

  • How do you choose who you’re going to hunt in a round?

First thing first, make sure they do not fall under the un-huntable category. Afterwards, assess their current situation and how hunting them can ADD onto their round, if I deem that potentially hunting said player does not take away from their round/experience I would approach them for first contact to assess their willingness to RP with the pred. If the player goes along with the RP I would start actively hunting them and proceed from there. Main takeaway from this is to make sure the hunt stays within HC guidelines and ensure that it provides the ‘prey’ with a good experience.

  • When would you HPC someone?

I would personally use the HPC on dishonorable targets, assuming it’s a necessary measure. I wouldn’t use the HPC on a researcher messing with the gear of a fallen predator since they are basically defenseless against a predator, let alone one using the HPC. I would use it against targets like a predalien or a group of DD, since I am sure they can at least fight back to some capacity, even when I am using my full arsenal of weaponry. I do understand the HPC could technically be used on ANY dishonorable prey, but I personally believe it should be a tool reserved for only the toughest of situations.

I like your answers and how you keep it within the reasoning of not wanting to ruin another player’s round. But for the HPC question I was personally looking for a answer along the lines of “If someone is extremely LRP and metagames something like pred knowledge or HC then I’d blast them” But still a good answer regardless.

+1 from me

Had multiple rounds with you, and you have been much more active over the past two months or so. I’ve even escorted you at least twice now when you’ve played IO, and it was a relatively nice experience and setting. You know how to balance your character comfortably between having fun, and taking it seriously.

You seem most concerned about OOC views. It is a good value to have.

+1, remember that your HPC should have a non-lethal mode too…

Did you use ChatGPT to either create or assist in creating your character story?

No? this is the same story I used in my last 2 applications.

Also, I am pretty sure you evaluated it before I even posted it.

The council has looked over your application with the consensus being that your story is AI-assisted to some degree. While I cannot go back to confirm with your previous applications, as it is the same document updated for each application.

The council unanimously believes your story is assisted by AI, therefore your application is denied and you are blacklisted from applying for any of the three whitelists.

Added pred:denied and removed pred:waiting

After alot of deliberation between the council, whitelist overseers and some new context from Hermotimos; we will be reversing the blacklist from this application.

While the red flags of AI-usage were there, a majority of the council do not feel they are substantial enough to warrant a blanket ban from all whitelists. The story, however, will need to be rewritten and an application can be submitted within 30 days of the original decision.

As Senator of the whitelist who greenlights these decisions, this falls on me. Please do not call out any of the councillors for their decision!
