So, I’m assuming you’re not referring to high velocity but rather high impact rounds. I honestly hate impact rounds as xeno, but the velocity is pretty fair all things considered.
Being able to chamber an incend round then load an impact mag is diabolical and I feel like that should be removed.
Scout gets their impact rounds because their gimmick is being really really good at killing lone T1s and T2s, in almost any other scenario another specialist is better in a fight.

On the frontline and need to deal with T1s/T2s? GL has HEDPs that stun AND have IFF alongside having strong armor meaning you don’t put yourself at much risk.

Need to deal with T3s/Queen? SADAR/AMR/Pyro are massive deterrents to prevent/kill them for overextending.
Scout gets a cloak and a “free kill” gun because its primary gimmick consists of running around backline killing lone targets with no support.
If a scout gets lunged? dead. Hits an acid trap near a runner/facehugger? capped. Pounced by a runner that saw through cloak? capped. etc etc.
If you remove impact rounds then arguably base sniper becomes better at killing backliners than scout due to aimed incind shot’s damage + flame on Runner/Lurker.
Playing as a backliner and want to counter scout?
- Get some teamwork- convince a drone to come to the backline and build a small backline base.
- make sure that the drone stays outside/in view expanding the base while you hide behind a door.
- When the scout inevitably decloaks to kill the drone, simply pounce them as runner/lurker.
- have the drone (who got set fire and is at half hp) help tackle and cap.
If you can’t get a single drone to help, then you’re better off giving up the backline instead of gambling on seeing scout first before they decloak and killing them.
yes… people tend to forget just how squishy scouts really are, also the M4RA and the M4RA custom are dog shit at CQC too low of fire rate to deal with close in runner who knows her stuff.
