(This story is just peak CM I jsut had to share it.)
It was on snowball. I spawned in and got no response on radio. Since it was low pop I thought that maybe I was the only surv. I talked over the radio and got no reply.
So being alone I hide in a locker. Turns out I was not the only surv but well soon it was 00:20 with no marines. I could hear CAS in the distant but I knew if I opend the locker I would die. After all CAS implies the front line is close by. Since there are no lights I can assume I am in the back line likely behind the xenos.
At 00:28 a smart gunner all alone walked into veiw. He got jumped by a lurker and died. Well that settles it not leave this locker. 00:30 guys walks by and I ask “is it safe to come out.” He says no and just runs off. At 00:44 or maybe 47 I figure maybe the marines are norht of me.
I open the locker turn on my lights. I walk north and about 10 seconds later a lurker jumps me and instatly kills me. I did get rescued but turn out the queen was on the front line. The marines where falling back and manged to take me with them.
Thus followed the shortest fob hold I have ever seen. Lasting less then a minute and a half. With 2 bezerk rav attacking the alamo. Amazingly we manged to escape. However bushman always survives as I evaced on the CL’s pod. Luckly the CL has some food as that prevented me from eatting him on the spot.
Turns out the other marine we evaced with a but of a bushman fan. Had a nice talk in LOOC.
I’m terribly sorry for the horrible experience you have had. Although I’m not able to offer you any compensation at this moment, I have discovered the reason why my UAV wasn’t working and will be sure to cap you post haste next time. Again, sorry for any inconvenience. Have a CM day
Nah it was fine. I was mostly chilling wondering when someone would find me. I will say that lurker who killed me was a noob. I mean you don’t get a better cap chance then that and you jsut fragged.

Please do the math:
Survivors are outnumbered by xenomorphs, and at spawn are limited in number.
Every hand in a group of survivors increases the survival chance of that group greatly.
Not grouping up with other survivors thus effectively decreases their chances.
Survivors with minimal chances often get captured.
Survivors getting captured means xenomorphs get TWO EXTRA LIVES per survivor captured…
…minus each dead xenomorph, the kills of which generally only come from survivors with high chances of survival.
This means, in effect, you are a xeno agent by not grouping up with other survivors.
Please. NEVER HIDE IN LOCKERS!
I hate to say it as someone who played 200 hours as surv and salted at lockerhiders but fair enough. The surv RP angle is some of the most fun if you can get people to be involved and yet its locked behind a 20 minutes shitshow that most people aren’t even ready for.
How surv hasn’t been split into two different sections of RP surv who start in some kind of safe bunker and combat survs there to give xenos a wild ride before the marines arrive boggles me. Like sure I ain’t coding it but a split would mean the guys who are there to game don’t have to carry dead weight and the ones there to RP don’t have to be miserable dealing with 20 minutes of combat they don’t want to bother with.
Obviously in such a situation skills would be adjusted but seems like a win-win for everyone involved (besides the poor sod who would have to code it)
It kind of goes aginst the lore too. Like as a surv i have been holding out for what days. Yet in game im lucky if i can make it 18 minutes. Also if I am supposed to have been fending off xenos for days why do i spawn in a random spot with little gear.
I get that it’s supposed to be a newt situation like in aliens. But the dev seem to forget the detail about xenos mostly comeing out at night. So it made more sense she would survive by only comeing out at day. Xeno also could not see through walls in the movies or have runner who check every square inch of hideing space in a 20 mile radius.
I just think this is one ofthe few thing that did not get translanted over well. It feels like the devs want me to be like newt yet game play forces me to act like rambo.
